Pharmacokinetics of Nivolumab and Erythropoietin in a Rat Model of Diet-Induced Obesity.

Pharm Res

January 2025

Department of Pharmaceutics, Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, 160 Frelinghuysen Road, Piscataway, NJ, 08854, USA.

Purpose: To investigate how obesity affects the pharmacokinetics of biologics in a rat model.

Method: Male Long-Evans rats were fed a high-fat diet from the age of 3 weeks and development of obesity was monitored by measuring body size and composition (fat and lean mass). The animals received nivolumab (1 and 8 mg/kg) or recombinant human erythropoietin (rHuEPO, 1000 IU/kg) by intravenous or subcutaneous injection.

During the omicron wave of the COVID-19 pandemic and with SARS-CoV-2 vaccines becoming available, seroprevalence rates rose in children and adolescents. This study investigated the impact of both SARS-CoV-2 infections and vaccinations on the incidence of acute and prolonged symptoms in real-world conditions during the transition from the pandemic to the endemic phase. Participants from a pediatric population based seroprevalence study (CorKID study) were followed up at least two and for almost four years by survey of health status features and symptoms suggestive of post-COVID syndrome (PCS).

Objectives: Although the burden of syphilis is slightly increasing worldwide, there are a limited number of rapid, simple-to-use, accurate and cost-effective diagnostic tools available. Thus, we aimed to determine the diagnostic performance of the particle agglutination (TPPA) test (hereafter called index test) against an electrochemiluminescence immunoassay (ECLIA) (hereafter called reference test). We selected the available treponemal reference test (ECLIA) to evaluate the index test (TPPA) which is not currently in use in Ethiopia.

Association of anti-phosphatidylserine/prothrombin antibodies with adverse in vitro fertilization outcomes.

J Reprod Immunol

January 2025

Reproductive and Genetic Center, The First Affiliated Hospital of USTC, Division of Life Sciences and Medicine, University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, Anhui 230026, China. Electronic address:

Anti-phosphatidylserine/prothrombin antibodies (aPS/PT) are classified as non-criteria antiphospholipid antibodies (aPL), and are strongly associated with thrombosis and pregnancy complications linked to antiphospholipid syndrome (APS). This study aimed to investigate whether aPS/PT positivity is associated with adverse outcomes in vitro fertilization (IVF). The study included infertile women who tested positive aPS/PT and underwent IVF cycles, as well as infertile controls with pure tubal etiology.
