The new ternary polar intermetallic phase, Li2Y5In9, was obtained by high-temperature solid-state reactions of the corresponding elements inwelded Ta tubes. Its crystal structure was established by a single-crystal X-ray diffraction study. Li2Y5In9 crystallizes in the tetragonal space group P4/nmm (No. 129) with cell parameters of a = b = 10.1242(4), c = 15.1091(10) A and Z = 4. The structure of Li2Y5In9 features a two-dimensional corrugated anionic In9 layer composed of two types of square pyramidal In5 units and butterfly In4 units. There are two types of square pyramidal In5 units: one with normal In-In bonds and another one with greatly elongated In-In separations within its In4 square. Packing of these 2D In9 layers resulted in cavities and tunnels that are occupied by Y and Li atoms. Extended-Hückel tight-binding calculations indicate that Li2Y5In9 is metallic.

This is a maximal intensity projection of CA1 pyramidal cell transfected with plasmid with the reporter GFP using single cell electroporation technique. In this particular case the organotypic slices were prepared from p5-7 pups in a tissue chopper (McIlwain). And maintained in MEM bases media with added glutamax with a change in 2 alternative dyas at 37°C and 5% CO for 4 days in-vitro (DIV) before electroporating with a glass pipette of 7-10mΩ resistance by applying 4 square pulses of -ve voltage of -2.

The synthesis and characterization of novel compounds (5-8) as mimetics of [FeFe]-hydrogenase, combining two distinct systems capable of participating in hydrogen evolution reactions (HER): the [(μ-adt)Fe2(CO)6] fragment and M-salen complexes (salen = N,N'-bis(salicylidene)ethylenediamine) (M = Zn, Ni, Fe, Mn), is reported. These complexes were synthesized in high yields via a three-step procedure from N,N'-bis(4-R-salicylidene)ethanediamine) 4 [R = Fe2(CO)6(μ-SCH2)2COCH2O)]. Structural analysis through spectroscopic, spectrometric, and computational (DFT) methods confirmed distorted tetrahedral and square-planar geometries for Zn-salen and Ni-salen complexes (5 and 6) respectively, while complexes Fe-salen 7 and Mn-salen 8 exhibit square-based pyramidal structures typical of Fe(III) and Mn(III) high-spin salen-complexes.

Herein, we present a distorted square pyramidal mercury complex, [Hg(L)Cl] (1), based on a quinoline-substituted formazan ligand LH[3-Cyano-1,5-(quinolin-8-yl)formazan], which was evaluated for its anti-bacterial activity in vitro. Complex 1 was prepared by refluxing 3-Cyano-1,5-(quinolin-8-yl)formazan ligand and mercury chloride(II) in equimolar quantity and was characterized utilizing a range of analytical methods, including single crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD) technique. The crystal packing in complex 1 has been elucidated using supramolecular investigations, which have shown the presence of fascinating Hg-Cl⋅⋅⋅Hg intermolecular spodium bonds of the order 3.

Mechanistic understanding of the formation of clusters plays a role in designing the structure-dependent properties. Based on the fact that anions act as templates to form spherical polyoxovanadates, various structures were reported by changing anions in the synthetic solution. In this work, another factor in the formation of spherical polyoxometalates was demonstrated.
