Objective: To study the effect of methylene blue combined with aprotinin on intraperitoneal adhesion.

Methods: From May 2000 to February 2004, there were 83 patients receiving total or partial colectomy and temporary ileostomy or colostomy, and second anastomosis was performed within 8-12 weeks after the first operation. These patients were divided into four groups and followed by intraperitoneal administration of saline, methylene blue, aprotinin, combined methylene blue and aprotinin respectively during the second operation, then adhesion formation was quantitatively graded.

Results: The adhesion rate was 15% in combination group, 83% in saline group, 40% in methylene blue group, and 45% in aprotinin group, respectively. The adhesion rate was significantly lower in combination group(P< 0.05).

Conclusions: Methylene blue and aprotinin can decrease the incidence of intraperitoneal adhesion significantly. The combination of these two drugs has significant effectiveness in the treatment of intraperitoneal adhesion.

Background: Candida albicans is the primary cause of vulvovaginal candidiasis, a worldwide health concern for women. The use of supplemental methods, such as antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (aPDT) and probiotics, was promoted by the ineffectiveness of the existing antifungal drugs.

Methods: This study examines the combined effects of probiotics (Bacillus and Enterococcus isolated from the fermented pickles) and PDT (using red laser (655 nm, 18 J/cm) as a light source and methylene blue dye (30 mg/mL) as a photosensitizer) on the in vitro virulence activity of C.

The use of dual-tracer contrast agents in clinical applications, such as sentinel lymph node (SLN) identification, offers significant advantages including enhanced accuracy, sensitivity, as well as comprehensive and multimodal visualization. In the current clinical practice, SLNs are typically marked prior to surgical resection by multiple and sequential injections of two tracers, the radioactive tracer and methylene blue (MB) dye. This imposes physical and psychological burden on patients and medical staff.

The degradation of methylene blue dye-contaminated wastewater via photocatalysis is an efficient approach towards environmental remediation. The SrZrO perovskite photocatalyst was synthesized using the modified Pechini sol-gel method, and characterized using XRD, FESEM, FTIR, and UV-visible spectrophotometer. Crystallite size obtained by the Scherrer and Williamson-Hall methods were 45.

Septic shock is a significant challenge in the management of patients with burns and traumatic injuries when complicated by infection, necessitating prompt and effective haemodynamic support. This review provides a comprehensive overview of current strategies for vasopressor and fluid management in septic shock, with the aim to optimize patient outcomes. With regard to vasopressor management, we elaborate on the pharmacologic profiles and clinical applications of catecholamines, vasopressin derivatives, angiotensin II, and other vasoactive agents.

Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs) have proven to be an effective solution for chemical wastewater treatment, particularly for degradation of organic pollutants, especially dyes. Ozonation is recognized as one of the most prevalent AOPs. Nevertheless, some cases show a lowered efficiency of O utilization which is attributed to its inadequate distribution in the treated water causing low residence time, low mass transfer coefficient as well as shorter half-life.
