Background: Vaccination against HPV is an effective strategy for the prevention of HPV infection and cervical cancer. Nevertheless, the HPV vaccine uptake rate is low among ethnic minorities in Hong Kong. This study sought to assess the feasibility and acceptability of motivational interviewing among South Asian mother-daughter dyads and to preliminarily examine its effects on knowledge of HPV infection and vaccination, health beliefs, intention to have the daughters vaccinated, and initiation and completion of HPV vaccine series.

Background: Adverse events in childhood are linked to cancer risk across the life course, but evidence is lacking regarding parental death during childhood and breast cancer (BrCa) characteristics. We investigated whether parental loss in childhood defines women at higher risk of BrCa incidence and aggressive disease.
Methods: The Child Health and Development Studies (CHDS) comprises over 15,000 families who enrolled during mothers' pregnancies between 1959-1967; family members were followed for cancer incidence and cause-specific mortality.

Asymmetric cell division (ACD) allows daughter cells of a polarized mother to acquire different developmental fates. In , the Wnt/β-catenin Asymmetry (WβA) pathway regulates many embryonic and larval ACDs; here, a Wnt gradient induces an asymmetric distribution of Wnt signaling components within the dividing mother cell. One terminal nuclear effector of the WβA pathway is the transcriptional activator SYS-1/β-catenin.
