Objective: To provide some references for defining the Chinese optimal intensity of anticoagulation after mechanical heart valve prostheses replacement.
Methods: For the 178 patients with carbomedics mechanical prosthetic heart valves, the means of INR were compared between the patients with complications and those without complications at the standard of INR1. 4 - 2.0. Also, the variations of INR were compared among different follow-ups.
Results: During the follow-up, 22 hemorrhagic and 1 thromboembolic complication occurred. The total linearized rate of anticoagulation-related hemorrhage was 5.83% pty. The total linearized rate thromboembolism was 0.26% pty. The late mortality was 0.79% pty (3 cases ). The final mean INR was 1.68 +/- 0.38. The final mean oral warfarin dose was 2.34 +/- 0.80 mg. The differences of variations of INR in five periods were significant (F = 5.072, P < 0.05). The mean INR in the first month of follow-up was 1.75 +/- 0.27.
Conclusion: For Chinese patients with mechanical prosthetic heart valve, hemorrhage is the principal complication, the ratio of which is much higher than that of thromboembolism. The low-dose anticoagulation (INR1. 4-2.0) could remarkably decrease hemorrhagic events as effectively as prevent the thrombolic events. Moreover the INR is the most unstable in the first month of follow-up, so re-examination for the patients in the first month after the operation is vitally important.

Statement Of Problem: Although immediate implant loading has shown promising clinical results and high survival rates, an increased risk of implant failure and complications has been reported. Achieving consistently predictable outcomes with this approach remains a challenge, but evidence-based guidelines to assist in selecting suitable patients are lacking.
Purpose: The purpose of this retrospective clinical study was to investigate the success rate, survival rate, and complications of immediate implant loading compared with early and delayed loading.

Aim: The aim is to evaluate and compare stress distribution characteristics of ball, magnet, and positioned attachment systems in single and double implant-retained overdentures using the finite element method (FEM).
Setting And Design: In vitro (in silico study) finite element analysis (FEA).
Materials And Methods: A Styrofoam mandible with duplicated silicon mucosa was used to construct a mandibular complete denture.

This study compared the degree of secondary hyperalgesia and somatosensory threshold changes induced by topical capsaicin between spinal and trigeminal innervation. This crossover clinical trial included 40 healthy individuals in which 0.25 g of 1% capsaicin cream was randomly applied for 45 minutes to a circular area of 2 cm to the skin covering the masseter muscle and forearm in 2 different sessions, separated by at least 24 hours and no more than 72 hours (washout period).

Intractable implant-associated infections (IAIs) are the primary cause of prosthetic implant failure, particularly in the context of diabetes mellitus. There is an urgent need to design and construct versatile engineered implants integrated with cascade amplification therapeutic modality to significantly improve the treatment of diabetic IAIs. To address this issue, a multi-functional MXene/AgPO@glucose oxidase bio-heterojunction enzyme (M/A@GOx bio-HJzyme) coating is developed, which is decorated with an inert sulfonated polyetheretherketone implant (SP-M/A@G) via hydrothermal treatment and layered deposition.
