Lymphangiomas are benign malformations of the lymphatic vessels which can be primary or secondary in etiology. Colonic involvement is rare, and the diagnosis is mostly incidental. Sometimes, the initial endoscopic appearance can be misleading.

Lymphangiomatosis is a rare and benign mesenchymal disorder where there is developmental malformation and dilatation of lymphatic channels. The most common sites for lymphangiomatosis are the cervical neck and axilla, but it can also occur in the mediastinum, retroperitoneum, mesentery, omentum, colon, and pelvis. Renal lymphangiomatosis is an even rarer multicystic disorder which may be hilar, pericalyceal, paracalyceal, peripelvic, or para pelvic.

Background: Lymphangiomatosis is an extremely rare disease with potential soft tissue, bone, and spleen involvement, which can be characterized by lymphangioma. Only a few cases of colon and mesenteric lymphangiomatosis have been reported. We report a case presenting with fatigue, periumbilical pain, and intermittent bloody stools.

Background: Lymphangiomatosis is a multisystem disorder that is rarely localized to the gastrointestinal tract. Lymphangiomatosis usually has no specific clinical presentation and is easily misdiagnosed. A case report and review of the literature on lymphangiomatosis associated with protein-losing enteropathy will help to improve the overall understanding of this disease.
