This article describes a percutaneous fixation technique for a midwaist scaphoid fracture using an antegrade (dorsal) guidewire and a retrograde (volar) cannulated screw placement. This simplified hybrid technique allows for accurate dorsal central wire placement and stable internal fixation with minimal violation of the articular cartilage of the proximal pole of the scaphoid.

Background: Recent advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) have changed the care processes in mental health, particularly in decision-making support for health care professionals and individuals with mental health problems. AI systems provide support in several domains of mental health, including early detection, diagnostics, treatment, and self-care. The use of AI systems in care flows faces several challenges in relation to decision-making support, stemming from technology, end-user, and organizational perspectives with the AI disruption of care processes.

Purpose: To investigate whether hormone receptor-positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-low (HR+HER2-low) versus HR+HER2-zero early breast cancers have distinct genomic and clinical characteristics.
Methods: This study included HR+, HER2-negative early breast cancers from patients enrolled in the phase III, randomized BIG 1-98 and SOFT clinical trials that had undergone tumor genomic sequencing. Tumors were classified HR+HER2-low if they had a centrally reviewed HER2 immunohistochemistry (IHC) score of 1+ or 2+ with negative in situ hybridization and HR+HER2-zero if they had an HER2 IHC score of 0.

Metal nanoclusters (NCs), owing to their atomic precision and unique molecule-like properties, have gained widespread attention for applications ranging from catalysis to bioimaging. In recent years, proteins, with their hierarchical structures and diverse functionalities, have emerged as good candidates for functionalizing metal NCs, rendering metal NC-protein conjugates with combined and even synergistically enhanced properties featured by both components. In this Perspective, we explore key questions regarding why proteins serve as complementary partners for metal NCs, the methodologies available for conjugating proteins with metal NCs, and the characterization techniques necessary to elucidate the structures and interactions within this emerging bionano system.

The organization of the human genome in space and time is critical for transcriptional regulation and cell fate determination. However, robust methods for tracking genome organization or genomic interactions over time in living cells are lacking. Here, we developed a multicolor DNA labeling system, ParSite, to simultaneously track triple genomic loci in the U2OS cells.

Analyses of the genetic distance and composition of inbred lines are a prerequisite for parental selection and to exploit heterosis in plant breeding programs. The study aimed to assess genetic diversity and population structure of a maize germplasm panel comprising 182 founder lines and 866 derived inbred lines using Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) markers to identify genetically unique lines for hybrid breeding. The founder lines were genotyped with 1201 SNPs, and the derived lines with 1484 SNPs.
