Objective: To compare direct measurements of canine oxyhemoglobin (HbO2) saturation and blood oxygen content (ContO2) in healthy dogs with analyzer-calculated values derived by use of a human HbO2 relationship and with hand-calculated values derived by use of a canine HbO2 relationship.
Animals: 17 healthy dogs.
Procedure: 3-mL samples of heparinized arterial and jugular venous blood were collected from each dog. The pH, Pco2, Po2, hemoglobin, HbO2, carboxyhemoglobin, methemoglobin, and ContO2 were measured; HbO2 and ContO2 were calculated automatically by analyzers and also hand-calculated. Blood gas analyzer-calculated and hand-calculated HbO2 values were compared with co-oximeter-measured HbO2 values. Analyzer-calculated and hand-calculated ContO2 values were compared with oxygen content analyzer-measured values.
Results: Hand-calculated HbO2 values for arterial and jugular venous samples were slightly but significantly lower than those calculated by a blood gas analyzer or obtained from a co-oximeter. Hand-calculated and analyzer-calculated arterial and venous ContO2 were similar to measured values.
Conclusions And Clinical Relevance: Although certain HbO2 and ContO2 values generated by use of the different methods were significantly different, these differences are unlikely to be clinically important in healthy dogs.

The low sulfur selectivity of Fe-based HS-selective catalytic oxidation catalysts is still a problem, especially at a high O content. This is alleviated here through anchoring FeO nanoclusters on UiO-66 via the formation of Fe-O-Zr bonds. The introduced FeO species exist in the form of Fe and Fe.

Chlorpromazine (CPZ) is an abused sedative that is extensively metabolized in organisms. However, the metabolic pathway of CPZ in aquatic organisms is still unclear. In this study, CPZ metabolites was analyzed in grass carp exposed to CPZ in the raising water using ultrahigh-performance liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole Orbitrap mass spectrometry (UHPLC-Q-Orbitrap MS).

Nanoconfinement at the interface of heterogeneous Fenton-like catalysts offers promising avenues for advancing oxidation processes in water purification. Herein, we introduce a template-free strategy for synthesizing nanoconfined catalysts from municipal sludge (S-NCCs), specifically engineered to optimize reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation and utilization for rapid pollutant degradation. Using selective hydrofluoric acid corrosion, we create an architecture that confines atomically dispersed Fe centers within a micro-mesoporous carbon matrix in situ.

Fe-N-C catalysts are considered promising substitutes for Pt-based catalysts at the cathode in direct methanol fuel cells (DMFCs) owing to their great methanol tolerance. However, Fe-N-C-based DMFCs commonly suffer from a decreased performance under extremely high methanol concentrations and exhibit poor stability, while the underlying mechanism remains controversial. In this study, a self-degradation phenomenon in a passive Fe-N-C-based DMFC was investigated in detail.

Students with preexisting anxiety, depression, mood disorder or other psychological distress are more vulnerable to burnout. It is estimated that at least half of U.
