Bryophytes are important high plants. However, the plants of bryophyte are small in size with few identification characters. The identification of plant samples using Fourier transform infrared spectrometer with OMNI collector is simple, convenient, fast and accurate. In the present paper, Fourier transform infrared spectrometer with OMNI collector was applied to gain the infrared spectra of 30 samples belonging to 26 bryophyte species. Based on the indices of wave number-absorbance, the differences of the 30 infrared spectra were compared by the method of Detrended Correspondence Analysis (DCA). The results showed that there is good correspondence between the position relationship of DCA two-dimensional plot of the samples based on the indices of wave number-absorbance of FTIR spectra and their classification relationship. Therefore, it is practical to apply the infrared spectra to identifying the false sample from the true one in medicine bryophytes.

Hyperspectral imaging for detection of macronutrients retained in glutinous rice under different drying conditions.

Curr Res Food Sci

December 2024

Empa Swiss Federal Laboratories for Material Science and Technology, ETH Zurich, Lerchenfeldstrasse 5, 9014, St. Gallen, Switzerland.

This study detected the macronutrients retained in glutinous rice (GR) under different drying conditions by innovatively applying visible-near infrared hyperspectral imaging coupled with different spectra preprocessing and effective wavelength selection techniques (EWs). Subsequently, predictive models were developed based on processed spectra for the detection of the macronutrients, which include protein content (PC), moisture content (MC), fat content (FC), and ash content (AC). The result shows the raw spectra-based model had a prediction accuracy ( ) of 0.

Biosynthesis and activity of Zn-MnO nanocomposite in vitro with molecular docking studies against multidrug resistance bacteria and inflammatory activators.

Sci Rep

Department of Hematology/Oncology, Yousef Abdulatif Jameel Scientific Chair of Prophetic Medicine Application, Faculty of Medicine, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, 21589, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This study investigated the green synthesis of Zn-MnO nanocomposites via the fungus Penicillium rubens. Herein, the synthesized Zn-MnO nanocomposites were confirmed by UV-spectrophotometry with a top peak (370 nm). Transmission electron microscopy confirmed irregular particles with a spherical-like shape ranging from 25.

Absolute line strength measurements of hydroperoxyl (HO2) radical in the OO-stretching (ν3) fundamental band have been performed by means of mid-infrared time-resolved dual-comb spectroscopy. By employing two sets of dual-comb spectrometers, high-resolution time-resolved spectra of HO2 and HCl, formed in the photolysis reaction system of Cl2/CH3OH/O2, could be, respectively, measured near 1123 and 3059 cm-1. With kinetic simulations, spectral analysis of both HO2 and HCl, as well as the accurate line strength of the HCl R(9) transition at 3059.

Van der Waals (vdWs) materials are promising candidates for hetero-integration with silicon photonics toward miniaturization and integration. VdWs materials like molybdenum telluride and black phosphorus, despite being prominent, exhibit air sensitivity, and their room temperature emissions can be significantly broadened by tens of meV. Here, a self-encapsulation strategy is developed to scalably synthesize robust 2D vdWs ErOCl with sub-meV narrow emissions at the telecom C-band.

This near-infrared spectral dataset consists of 2,106 diverse mineral soil samples scanned, on average, on six different units of the same low-cost commercially available handheld spectrophotometer. Most soil samples were selected from the USDA NRCS National Soil Survey Center-Kellogg Soil Survey Laboratory (NSSC-KSSL) soil archives to represent the diversity of mineral soils (0-30 cm) found in the United States, while 90 samples were selected from Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria to represent available African soils in the same archive. All scanning was performed on dried and sieved (<2 mm) soil samples.
