The importance of trait variation has long been recognized in ecological and evolutionary research. The divergence of sexually dimorphic traits (e.g.

The flat-headed frog, , is a poorly known, riverine species, endemic to the province of Palawan in the Philippines. We applied capture-mark-recapture (CMR) methods to follow individuals at two sites (Malbato and San Rafael) in the island of Busuanga over 10 months in 2022-2023. We used passive internal transponders (PITs) to mark adult and subadults and single-colored visual internal elastomers (VIEs) for cohorts of juveniles.

is an ancestral homologous gene of the male-determining in eutherian mammals and determines maleness in medaka fish. In the Japanese frog, , is located on the Z and W chromosomes. To assess the sex-determining function of in this frog, we investigated its expression in gonads during early tadpole development and conducted genome-editing experiments.

Background: Nuptial pads, a typical sexually dimorphic trait in anurans, are located on the first digit of the male forelimb in Rana chensinensis and exhibit morphological changes synchronized with breeding cycles. However, the genetic mechanisms underlying its formation and seasonal changes remain poorly understood.
Results: To identify genes and biological processes associated with the development and seasonal variations of nuptial pads, we conducted a comprehensive transcriptome analysis on nuptial pads and hind toe skin across both sexes at different breeding periods in R.
Introduction: Although maintenance treatment is recommended for the prevention of relapse, in real-world settings, a subset of patients discontinue antipsychotics while having a good prognosis. The prediction of functional remission in patients with schizophrenia after antipsychotic discontinuation (FURSAD) study aims to obtain real-world knowledge regarding the characteristics of schizophrenia (SCZ) patients who achieve functional remission after antipsychotic discontinuation for 1 year or more. This study also aims to establish a prediction model to identify patients likely to benefit from antipsychotic discontinuation.
