A morphological analysis of 50 cases of adenomyosis (AM) and 150 cases of AM combination with leiomyoma (LM) with regard to their morphofunctional and histotopographical interrelations was performed. The asynchronous character and mosaicism of estrogen/progesteron receptors expression in the gland epithelium and AM stromal cells of one patient was established immunohistochemically. This probably determines uneffective hormonal therapy of AM patients. A correlation of steroid hormone receptor expression in AM foci and in leiomyocytes of perifocal myometrium hyperplasia was also found. This indicates a common pathogenic mechanism of AM and LM. An increase of the size of the uterus depended on the degree of perifocal leiomyocyte hyperplasia with microscopical nodule formation in LM.

Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumours (MPNSTs) are aggressive sarcomas that occur rarely in the cervix. Considering the varied clinical features and the absence of a pathognomonic immunohistochemical marker, it is always challenging to diagnose these tumours. Treatment has not been standardised as yet, but a combination of surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy is used to treat MPNSTs of the cervix.

Study Objective: Compare the length of hospital stay of adolescents admitted for severe anemia (hemoglobin ≤ 8 g/dL) due to acute abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) treated with high-dose combined oral contraceptive pills (HD-OCPs) versus those treated with HD-OCPs and intravenous conjugated equine estrogen, also referred to as dual therapy.
Design, Setting, And Participants: This is a single institution retrospective cohort study of adolescents hospitalized for the management of acute AUB and severe anemia between July 1, 2004, to January 1, 2020. Subjects were excluded if they were pregnant, had a malignancy, thrombocytopenia, treated with other hormonal therapies, or if bleeding stopped prior to admission.

Background: Sex cord-stromal cell tumors (SCST) are rare tumors of the ovary. Some of the SCSTs secrete hormone originating from the sex or stromal cell of the ovaries. Previous studies have indicated an increased risk of breast and endometrial cancers.

Background: Cesarean hysterectomy in the placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) remains challenging due to difficulty in controlling perioperative bleeding.
Purpose: To compare the effectiveness and safety of perioperative balloon occlusion with versus without pelvic artery embolization in PAS women who underwent a cesarean hysterectomy.
Material And Methods: A total of 26 pathological confirmed cases of PAS were retrospectively reviewed and categorized into two groups: perioperative balloon occlusion at either the anterior division of the internal iliac artery or uterine artery followed by gelfoam embolization (n = 12, study group) and perioperative balloon occlusion alone (n = 14, control group).
