Severe acne infantum successfully treated with isotretinoin.

Treatment of severe nodular infantile acne with oral isotretinoin has been effective and well tolerated in a small number of patients. We present another instance of successful treatment of severe acne with oral isotretinoin in a young infant and suggest that isotretinoin should be the treatment of choice for severe nodular acne in children and infants, especially if topical treatments or oral antibiotics have failed.

Cannabichromene (CBC) is one of the main cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant, and although less well known than tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD), it is gaining attention for its potential therapeutic benefits. To date, CBC's known mechanisms of action include anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antidepressant, antimicrobial, neuroprotective, and anti-acne effects through TRP channel activation and the inhibition of inflammatory pathways, suggesting that it may have therapeutic potential in the treatment of inflammatory skin diseases, such as atopic dermatitis (AD), but its exact mechanism of action remains unclear. Background: Acne treatment can take weeks to deliver noticeable improvements, which may diminish patients' perception of treatment effectiveness and undermine treatment adherence. Combination topical treatments that target multiple acne pathophysiological pathways are more efficacious than topical monotherapies, and simplifying combination treatment by delivering multiple active ingredients as fixed combinations may improve adherence.

Methods: This review provides an overview of efficacy with 4 weeks of treatment in pivotal trials of fixed-combination topical treatments for acne.
