This paper describes how the use of methodological triangulation can enrich the research process. The first section of the paper provides a brief outline of a national research project that studied 'pairs' of student midwives and their mentors in practice, and discusses the strengths and weaknesses of the approach. It then moves on to describe the combination of methods chosen for one aspect of the project before providing illustrative examples from the data that show how the triangulation of methods gave depth to the analysis

Background: Older people who die from serious chronic disease typically experience long periods (months or years) of illness and complex fluctuations in their physical health and in their social, psychological and existential well-being. Our understanding of these end-of-life trajectories is very limited, focuses predominantly on physical function and clinical predictors and neglects inter-individual differences. A better understanding of end-of-life trajectories, including what is shared among people and what is individually specific, is needed for an optimal provision of palliative care and health services planning.

Introduction: This study examines online communities as arenas where diverse forms of expertise converge to influence discourse and public opinion. Using the case of social media activism advocating for justice in the wrongful conviction of Roman Zadorov for the murder of Tair Rada, it highlights how these communities serve as platforms for "professional amateurs" and demonstrates their similarities and differences from participants in the formal legal arena.
Methods: The study employs a netnographic approach to analyze seven years of social media activity across 15 Facebook groups comprising over 300,000 members.

Krippendorff's Alpha is a measure for assessing inter-rater reliability, facilitating triangulated evaluations among multiple raters. Indeed, Krippendorff's Alpha is key in validating the dependability of human assessments, thereby reinforcing the robustness of human-based choices in contexts where interpretive variability could otherwise undermine the research outcomes. Despite its versatility across various data types, the procedure for computing this coefficient might limit its applicability for researchers unfamiliar with specialised statistical software.

Unraveling the factors influencing civil service effectiveness becomes imperative in an era marked by escalating demands for efficient governance. This study attempts to meet this necessity by delving into the complex dynamics among core executive functions, mission support facilities, service delivery functions, and attributes, aiming to elucidate their collective impact on civil service effectiveness. Utilizing a unique methodological blend of Fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA) and Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), it delves into the relationships among core executive functions, mission support facilities, service delivery functions, and attributes within the International Civil Service Effectiveness (InCiSE) Index framework.
