Influence of refrigerated storage on quality of fatty raw material by the example of Pacific herring has been investigated. After freezing and during storage at different temperatures in samples of frozen Pacific herring wedetermined the microbiological parameters, the content of toxic compounds, changes of proteins and accumulation of products of lipids oxidation. In parallel it was determined the quality of frozen herring by method of biotesting using infusorian Tetrachymena pyriformis. It has been established, that during storage of frozen Pacific herring the loss quality of fish raw material takes plase. Results of biotesting completely correlate with the data of chemical analysis under the estimation of fish raw material quality of refrigerated storage.

Comparative transcriptome and metabolome analysis of sweet potato ( (L.) Lam.) tuber development.

Introduction: Sweet potato is an important food, feed and industrial raw material, and its tubers are rich in starch, carotenoids and anthocyanins.

Methods: To elucidate the gene expression regulation and metabolic characteristics during the development of sweet potato tubers, transcriptomic and metabolomic analyses were performed on the tubers of three different sweet potato varieties at three developmental stages (70, 100, and 130 days (d)).

Results: RNA-seq analysis revealed that 16,303 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were divided into 12 clusters according to their expression patterns, and the pathways of each cluster were annotated.

A cross-sectional study was conducted to determine the seroprevalence and potential risk factors of camel brucellosis and to assess public health awareness of the disease in the selected kebele of Arero District, Borena Zone, Southern Ethiopia. A total of 313 blood samples were collected from selected camels using a systematic random sampling technique. The serum samples underwent initial screening for brucellosis using the rose Bengal plate test (RBPT), with further confirmation through the indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent Assay (i-ELISA).

Metabolism and effects of acetoaceto--toluidine in the urinary bladder of humanized-liver mice.

Occupational exposure to aromatic amines is a major risk factor for urinary bladder cancer. Our previous studies showed that acetoaceto--toluidine, which is produced using -toluidine as a raw material, promotes urinary bladder carcinogenesis in rats. We also found high concentrations of -toluidine, a human bladder carcinogen, in the urine of acetoaceto--toluidine-treated rats, indicating that urinary -toluidine derived from acetoaceto--toluidine may play an important role in bladder carcinogenesis.
