A UV spectrophotometric analysis of 4-methoxy-2-(3 (4-phenyl-1-piperazinyl)) propyl-2,3-dihydro-6-methyl-1,3-dioxo-1H-pyrrolo [3,4-c] pyridine (II) in HCI (0.01 mole/L) was performed by determining the values of specific absorption coefficients at the following analytical wavelengths: 225, 285 and 350 nm. The separation by means of TLC of compound II and of its five decomposition products was also studied. Silica gel coated plates (60 F254) were used and the mobile phase consisted of butanol--acetic acid--water. A validated RP-HPLC method for the determination or purity evaluation of II, with phenacetin as an internal standard, is described. The solution of II in HCI (0.01 mole/L) was chromatographed on an octadecyl column (LiChrosorb 100 RP-18 column 250 x 4.0 mm I.D., dp = 5 microm) using an eluent composed of the mixture acetonitrile--phosphate buffer pH = 2. Ultraviolet detection was used at an operation wavelength of 239 nm. The HPLC method was validated by determination of the following parameters: selectivity, precision, accuracy, linearity, stability of the analite, LOD and LOQ. Kinetic studies of the decomposition process of II in both acidic and alkaline environments demonstrated the instability of the imide group.

Ferritin is a versatile biomolecule used in various medical applications such as drug delivery, vaccines, biological imaging, and diagnostics. The purity and concentration of the ferritin nanoparticles are crucial for achieving excellent outcomes. In this study, we expressed and purified the recombinant swine ferritin heavy chain (rsFTH) as a new candidate for recombinant ferritin nanoparticles.

This study explores the use of front-face fluorescence spectroscopy to detect extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) adulteration with lower-grade olive oils (virgin, ordinary virgin, lampante virgin, refined, and pomace) at 5-50 % adulteration levels. Emission spectra were analyzed using principal component analysis, factorial discriminant analysis, and partial least square discriminant analysis (PLS-DA) at excitation wavelengths of 270, 290, and 430 nm. PLS-DA at 430 nm provided the best results, achieving 100 % classification accuracy and perfectly separating 12 groups of pure and adulterated samples.

Objectives: Sarcomas are complex mesenchymal malignancies whose molecular characteristics can significantly influence treatment strategies. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between tumor purity, mutation load, and clinical characteristics across sarcoma subtypes, focusing on potential implications for therapeutic stratification.
Methods: This study analyzed the molecular characteristics of 7494 sarcoma cases from the Soft Tissue and Bone Sarcoma (MSK, Nat Commun 2022) data set using available case analysis.

The superiority of thermoelectric (TE) performance based on single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) has conventionally involved the pursuit of a highly pure semiconducting ()-SWCNT and subsequent doping. Herein, we report that a minute quantity of metallic ()-SWCNT facilitates the doping of -SWCNT, leading to the highest achieved power factor (PF) and figure of merit () among SWCNT film-based TE devices without compromising the Seebeck coefficient (α). The controlled introduction of trace amounts of -SWCNT in -SWCNT films is achieved through repetitive filtration (RF) processes for film preparation.

Background/aims: DNA isolation is the initial process in genetic research. The product is used in many PCR reactions (PCR-RFLP, Real-Time PCR, multiplex PCR). That is why it is important to optimize DNA isolation protocol to obtain a good quality of DNA.
