Background: Non-communicable diseases have become a leading global health challenge, with mortality rates steadily rising. Insufficient patient care can worsen chronic illness, often placing significant caregiving responsibilities on the patient's spouse. In some cases, spouses may need to leave their jobs to provide full-time care, especially during the end-of-life stage.

BACKGROUND The configuration of the hepatic arteries is known to vary substantially between individuals. Here, we report a rare retroperitoneal configuration of an accessory hepatic artery existing alongside a left and right hepatic artery branching from the proper hepatic artery. During routine dissection, we discovered an anomalous configuration of the hepatic arteries that does not fit the commonly used categorizations for abnormal hepatic vasculature.

Recent thermodynamic and functional studies have been conducted to evaluate the impact of amino acid substitutions on Calmodulin (CaM). The Critical Assessment of Genome Interpretation (CAGI) data provider at University of Verona (Italy) measured the melting temperature (T) and the percentage of unfolding (%unfold) of a set of CaM variants (CaM challenge dataset). Thermodynamic measurements for the equilibrium unfolding of CaM were obtained by monitoring far-UV Circular Dichroism as a function of temperature.

Background: Caring for persons with alcohol use disorder (AUD) significantly affects the quality of life (QoL) of caregivers. According to Lazarus and Folkman's Stress and Coping Model (1984), the severity of alcohol consumption (SAC) is a major stressor for AUD caregivers. These stressors impact well-being, with QoL linked to caregivers' coping resources, especially social support (SS) and family functioning (FF).

Caring for alcohol use disorder (AUD) patients poses significant challenges, impacting caregivers' quality of life (QOL) across all the dimensions. Following Lazarus and Folkman's Transactional Model of Stress and Coping, family functioning (FF) and social support (SS) are crucial coping resources. This study aims to explore how FF and SS relate to QOL in caregivers of individuals with AUD, recognising their pivotal role in navigating diverse caregiving-related stressors.
