Introduction: Drug-eluting stent (DES) implantation represents an important innovation in the treatment of coronary artery disease. However, inflammatory-related complications, including subacute thrombosis and in-stent restenosis, are still important limitations to percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). The aim of this study was to compare early local release of interleukin 1beta (IL-1beta) and IL-6 proinflammatory cytokines after elective placement of either bare metal stents or DES.
Materials And Methods: IL-1beta and IL-6 levels were assayed in plasma obtained from the coronary sinus both before and 20 min after stent implantation in 59 patients with stable angina, who were randomly assigned to receive bare, paclitaxel-, or sirolimus-eluting stents during elective PCI.
Results: We found that IL-1beta and IL-6 levels were significantly increased in the coronary sinus of patients receiving either bare, paclitaxel- or sirolimus-eluting stents 20 min after stent implantation as compared with basal concentrations. The variation in the level of both cytokines was comparable among the three study groups.
Conclusions: A local release of proinflammatory cytokines occurs shortly after coronary stent placement, including DES, which is possibly related to plaque rupture and/or endothelium traumatism following the stenting procedure. This suggests that precocious anti-inflammatory treatment could be of benefit to further improve the PCI clinical outcome.

A dual-therapy sirolimus-eluting and CD34+ antibody-coated Combo Stent (DTS) has been developed to enhance endothelization and capture endothelial progenitor cells; however, vessel responses following DTS implantation remain unclear. Therefore, we evaluated early- and mid-term intravascular characteristics of DTS using intravascular imaging modalities. This multicenter, prospective, observational study enrolled 88 patients (95 lesions) who underwent DTS (43 patients, 48 lesions) or sirolimus-eluting Orsiro stent (SES, 45 patients, 47 lesions) implantation.

True trifurcation disease of the left main coronary artery is a rare situation encountered in clinical practice. To date, there is no evidence for a standardized strategy of percutaneous coronary intervention in this type of lesion. This article describes a novel three-stent strategy using a combination of Triple-Kissing Balloon Crush in both of the side branches.

Background: Undiagnosed and untreated atherosclerotic renal artery stenosis (ARAS) can result in end-stage kidney disease (ESKD). To obtain an accurate diagnosis, it is crucial to recognize the symptoms and signs suggesting renal artery stenosis (RAS) and perform appropriate diagnostic and treatment procedures afterward.
Case Presentation: We present a case of a 60-year-old female patient with hypertensive crisis, acute heart failure (HF), and pulmonary edema as the initial signs of acute kidney injury (AKI) caused by right RAS and left renal artery occlusion in the presence of severe aortic atherosclerosis revealed on computed tomography angiography (CTA) of the abdomen.

Subclavian artery pseudoaneurysms are rare but potentially life-threatening vascular injuries frequently associated with trauma such as clavicle fractures. In this paper we describe the case of a 49-year-old male who developed a post-traumatic pseudoaneurysm of the subclavian artery after a bicycle accident. The diagnosis was delayed due to non-specific symptoms and an initially missed aneurysm on computed tomography imaging.

Objective: In this study, we aimed to retrospectively review patients with post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS) and investigate its long-term outcomes, and a novel classification were presented across multiple institutions.
Methods: We retrospectively evaluated patients with PTS who underwent endovascular therapy at two institutions between January 2018 and September 2023. Baseline patient demographics, lesion characteristics, and in-hospital and follow-up outcomes were collected and analyzed retrospectively.
