Computed tomographic colonography ('virtual colonoscopy') has shown promising results in the detection of large (> or = 10 mm) polyps in populations with a high prevalence of polyps. Recent studies in low prevalence populations, however, show variable results in sensitivity, ranging from 55% to 94% for the detection of patients with polyps measuring 10 mm or longer. Therefore questions have been raised about computed tomographic colonography as a screening method, probably the most valuable use of this technique. This article describes possible causes of these remarkable differences as well as advances in computed tomographic colonography.

Purpose: Cardiac computed tomography angiography (CCTA) has significantly advanced the visualization of cardiac structures, particularly valves. We assessed the diagnostic performance of CCTA in diagnosing the most common disorders affecting the aortic valves requiring surgery-papillary fibroelastoma, infective endocarditis, and degeneration.
Methods: This retrospective study included patients who underwent aortic valve resection between 2016 and 2023 and had a preceding CCTA.
Background: Recent studies have focused on evaluating the biomarker value of textural features in radiological images. Our study investigated whether or not a texture analysis of computed tomographic colonography (CTC) images could be a novel biomarker for colorectal cancer (CRC).
Methods: This retrospective study investigated 263 patients with CRC who underwent contrast-enhanced CTC (CE-CTC) before curative surgery between January 2014 and December 2017.

Coronary artery disease (CAD) affects over 200 million individuals globally, accounting for approximately 9 million deaths annually. Patients living with diabetes mellitus exhibit an up to fourfold increased risk of developing CAD compared to individuals without diabetes. Furthermore, CAD is responsible for 40 to 80 percent of the observed mortality rates among patients with type 2 diabetes.
