Background: This study aims to provide an estimated dataset of lens zonule balance tension (LZBT) measurements in cataractous lenses among Chinese patients and to conduct a statistical analysis of anterior segment parameters.
Methods: This is a cross-sectional study. We included a total of 833 eyes from 833 Chinese participants aged 23-91 years who underwent cataract surgery.

Ocean tide generated magnetic fields contain information about changes in ocean heat content and transport that can potentially be retrieved from remotely sensed magnetic data. To provide an important baseline towards developing this potential, tidal signals are extracted from 288 land geomagnetic observatory records having observations within the 50-year time span 1965-2015. The extraction method uses robust iteratively reweighted least squares for a range of models using different predictant and predictor assumptions.

Self-oscillation enables continuous motion by transforming constant external stimuli into mechanical work, eliminating the necessity for supplementary control systems. This holds considerable promise in domains like actuators, wearable devices and biomedicine. In the current study, a novel suspended liquid crystal elastomer (LCEs) ball system consisting of a light-responsive hollow LCE ball and an air blower is constructed.

The sensation of gravity anchors our perception of the environment and is important for navigation. However, the neural circuits that transform gravity into commands for navigation are undefined. We first determined that larval zebrafish (Danio rerio) navigate vertically by maintaining a consistent heading across a series of upward climb or downward dive bouts.
