Analytical solution is obtained for time-resolved magnetic field effects (TR-MFE) on recombination fluorescence of radical-ion pair (RIP) containing radical ion with two groups of magnetically equivalent nuclei. The present theoretical approach is applied to three experimental systems: RIPs containing radical cations of 2,3-dimethylbutane, 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine, or diisopropylamine and radical anion of p-terphenyl-d14 in nonpolar alkane solutions. Good agreement between theory and experiment is found for all the three systems, hyperfine coupling constants of radical cations are obtained by fitting the experimental TR-MFE traces. The potential of the TR-MFE technique for studying radical ions with nonequivalent nuclei is discussed in detail. The wide applicability of the theoretical model and the experimental technique make them useful for studying short-lived radical species that are often beyond the reach of the conventional electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy.

Lithium is used in the long-term treatment of bipolar disorder, exhibiting a beneficial effect on the neuronal cells. The concentration of lithium in the blood serum can vary and can easily approach a level that is related to cardiotoxic adverse effects. This is due to its narrow therapeutic index.

Observing quantum mechanical characteristics in biological processes is a surprising and important discovery. One example, which is gaining more experimental evidence and practical applications, is the effect of weak magnetic fields with extremely low frequencies on cells, especially cancerous ones. In this study, we use a mathematical model of ROS dynamics in cancer cells to show how ROS oscillatory patterns can act as a resonator to amplify the small effects of the magnetic fields on the radical pair dynamics in mitochondrial Complex III.

Background And Objective: There is an established association between secondary bladder cancers (SBCs) and radiotherapy (RT) for prostate cancer (PC), which remains a significant concern. Our aim was to update the evidence on SBC incidence across different RT modalities and to compare oncological outcomes for patients diagnosed with SBC to those diagnosed with primary bladder cancer (PBC).
Methods: We searched MEDLINE, Scopus, and Web of Science for studies on SBC following PC.

Purpose: To investigate the association of diabetes mellitus and metformin use with metabolic acidosis risk after radical cystectomy (RC) and urinary diversion for bladder cancer.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective cohort study used TriNetX Research Network data. Patients undergoing RC with continent diversion or ileal conduit for bladder cancer were identified using International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision (ICD-10) and ICD-10 Procedure Coding System (ICD-10-PCS) codes.

This case revolves around a mid-childhood boy diagnosed with a chemoresistant chondroblastic osteosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of bone tumour affecting his left proximal humerus. Histopathological confirmation of chondroblastic osteosarcoma was obtained through core-needle biopsy. Despite initiating cytoreductive neoadjuvant chemotherapy using a vincristine and cyclophosphamide regimen, the tumour exhibited resistance, prompting the decision to proceed with a forequarter amputation.
