Silent sinus syndrome is a rare condition that typically affects the maxillary sinus, with only a few reported cases of frontal sinus involvement. Blockage of the sinus ostium leads to persistent hypoventilation, creating negative pressure and eventual sinus collapse. This report describes a previously undocumented case of facial asymmetry due to frontal silent sinus syndrome, following multiple childhood nasal injuries.

Infants, especially those born prematurely or with underlying health conditions, face a high risk of severe RSV-related lower respiratory tract infections (LRTIs). Globally, RSV contributes to millions of LRTI cases annually, with a disproportionate burden in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).

ISSD is predominantly caused by infectious and inflammation processes, with underlying fungal pathologies. There are no clear guidelines for deciding between endoscopic sinus surgery and tooth extraction for the treatment of odontogenic sinusitis. Furthermore, tooth extraction does not necessarily improve sinusitis and eventually results in additional endoscopic sinus surgery. Purpose: Although periostin has recently emerged as a new mediator in chronic allergic diseases, particularly in upper airway disease, its significance as a biomarker for allergic rhinitis (AR) is still unclear. Therefore, we aimed to assess the potential of periostin as a novel candidate biomarker for diagnosing and assessing the severity of AR.
Patients And Methods: A total of 40 patients with AR and 22 healthy controls, all aged over 18 years, were recruited for the study.
