Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Research & Development, A Division of Janssen Pharmaceutica N.V., Turnhoutseweg 30, B-2340 Beerse, Belgium.

Published: July 2005

Broad screening revealed compound 1a to be a novel anti-fungal agent with high specificity towards dermatophytes. The anti-fungal structure-activity relationship of this novel class of 5,6-dihydro-4H-pyrrolo[1,2-a][1,4]benzodiazepines is described together with its mode of action that appeared to be the inhibition of squalene epoxidase. Preliminary in vivo results of the most active compounds are also reported.

DbChitI-3, Drosera binata's acidic chitinase, peaks at pH 2.5 from 15 °C to 30 °C. Gene expression is stimulated by polysaccharides and suppressed by monosaccharide digestion, implying a feedback loop in its transcriptional regulation.

Chemically-synthesized Nanozymes that are widely used as alternatives to enzymes face challenges such as high precursor costs, complex preparation processes, and limited catalytic efficiency. To overcome these drawbacks, we introduce naturally derived nanozymes, nanomineralzymes, as a promising alternative, offering benefits like affordability, cost-effectiveness, and scalability. Chalcopyrite (CP, CuFeS) was sourced from a mineral deposit, and CP nanoparticles were produced by milling.

Beijing Key Laboratory of Technology and Application for Anti-Infective New Drugs Research and Development, Institute of Medicinal Biotechnology, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College, Beijing 100050, China. Electronic address:

Infectious diseases caused by drug-resistant bacteria represent one of the most significant global public challenges of this century. There is an urgent need for the treatment of drug-resistant Gram-negative bacterial infections. A series of 3,4-dihydro-2H-[1,3]oxazino[5,6-h]quinoline derivatives were synthesized and evaluated for their antibacterial activity against Gram-negative bacteria including strains from ATCC and clinical isolates, initially revealing the structure-activity relationship.

Modeling Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) images is crucial for numerous image processing applications and aids ophthalmologists in the early detection of macular abnormalities. Sparse representation-based models, particularly dictionary learning (DL), play a pivotal role in image modeling. Traditional DL methods often transform higher-order tensors into vectors and then aggregate them into a matrix, which overlooks the inherent multi-dimensional structure of the data.
