The popular PISEMA experiment is highly sensitive to the 1H chemical shift dispersion and the choice of the 1H carrier frequency. This is due to the off-resonance 1H irradiation in the FSLG-CP sequence employed during the dipolar evolution period. In the modified approach described in this work, the interfering frequency offset terms are suppressed. In the new pulse schemes, conventional FSLG-CP is intercalated with 180 degrees pulses applied simultaneously to both frequency channels, and with phases set orthogonal to those of the spin-lock fields. The technique is demonstrated on a nematic liquid-crystalline sample. Extensions to amplitude-modulated FSLG-CP recoupling under MAS are also presented.

Objective: Women with BRCA1/2 pathogenic variants considering risk-reducing bilateral oophorectomy (RRSO) may be concerned about potential effects of surgical menopause on cognition. Whether RRSO affects cognition and whether hormone therapy (HT) modifies this effect remains uncertain. This study aimed to prospectively measure the effect of premenopausal RRSO on cognition and the modifying effects of HT up to 24 months.

Background: While previous reports characterised global and regional variations in RSV seasonality, less is known about local variations in RSV seasonal characteristics. This study aimed to understand the local-level variations in RSV seasonality and to explore the role of geographical, meteorological, and socio-demographic factors in explaining these variations.
Methods: We conducted a systematic literature review to identify published studies reporting data on local-level RSV season onset, offset, or duration for at least two local sites.

Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic, starting in 2020, raised concerns about potential long-term health impacts, including its effects on cardiovascular health and related biomarkers. This study part of the Bus Santé in Geneva, Switzerland, compared cardiovascular and metabolic profiles pre- (2016-2019) and post-pandemic (2023-2024) among individuals aged 30-75.
Methods: Participants completed questionnaires and underwent a clinical visit, including a physical examination and fasting blood test to assess lipid and glycemic profiles.
We demonstrate a widely spaced, stabilized, and self-referenced opto-electronic oscillator driven electro-optic modulator based optical frequency comb. Using an ultra-stable Fabry-Perot etalon as a stable reference, we simultaneously stabilize a CW laser and generate a low noise and stable RF oscillation used to drive an electro-optic comb. In such a manner, the Fabry-Perot etalon pins both the carrier-envelope-offset frequency ( ) and the repetition rate of the comb in place ( ), eliminating the need for an external RF oscillator.

Liquid lens arrays can provide compact, nonmechanical beam steering as an alternative to fast-steering mirrors and mechanical gimbals. An array of two liquid lenses offset in perpendicular axes along with a third on-axis lens in the array are used for beam steering and divergence control, respectively.
