HIV prevention community planning was developed to promote identification of local prevention priorities through a process that was evidence-based and provided community input. There are a variety of barriers to effective use of data in community planning which include characteristics of data (availability, timeliness, relevance to planning tasks), characteristics of planning group members and providers of data (e.g., skills in understanding and applying data), and social-organizational aspects of community-planning groups (CPGs). Lessons learned from this project illustrate how to create locally relevant sources of data, build data use skills of CPG members and data providers, and address social-organizational aspects of planning, while also better integrating community planning with implementation of prevention plans. Adaptation of tools and methods is discussed along with future considerations for research and planning practice.

Background: There is a need to understand the benefits and limitations of innovative models of dementia care to ensure models meet the needs of people living with dementia, their families and staff. The aim of this scoping review was to explore and synthesise the barriers and facilitators to the widespread implementation of small-scale residential dementia care.
Method: A scoping review was conducted in 2023 in MEDLINE, CINAHL, PsycINFO, Scopus, Web of Science, and CENTRAL to identify empirical, peer-reviewed studies, published in English from database inception to October 2023.

Background: Discussion surrounding the nomenclature of the "nonfluent/agrammatic" spectrum of progressive speech-language disorders has largely focused on the clinical-pathological and neuroimaging correlations, with some attention paid to the prognostication afforded by differentiating clinical phenotypes. Progressive apraxia of speech (AOS), with or without agrammatic aphasia, is generally associated with an underlying tauopathy; however, patients have offered a unique perspective on the importance of distinguishing between difficulties with speech and language that extends beyond pathological specificity. This study aimed to provide insight into the experience of patients with primary progressive AOS (PPAOS), with particular attention to their diagnostic journey.

Background: Intact awareness of impaired task performance can facilitate the adoption of cognitive strategies to support performance. However, most studies have not examined awareness of task performance (an element of metacognition) relative to complex everyday activities. The Weekly Calendar Planning Activity (WCPA) is a performance-based assessment of functional cognition that includes indicators of awareness during performance of a simulated complex instrumental activity of daily living (IADL).

Background: Nursing home (NH) residents with dementia commonly experience mealtime behaviors that negatively impact nutrition and function. Residents do not receive person-centered mealtime care (PCMC) due to multilevel factors one prioritized modifiable factor is lack of effective PCMC programs. This study aimed to develop a PCMC program and test its feasibility, acceptability, usefulness and preliminary efficacy.
