Extranodal marginal zone B-cell lymphoma of the mucosa associated lymphoid tissue (MALT-lymphoma) is an indolent B-cell lymphoma with a distinct affinity for mucosal structures. Most commonly arising in the stomach, only roughly 2% of MALT-lymphomas occur in the colon or the intestine. In view of this, we have retrospectively assessed all patients with MALT-lymphoma involving the intestine for clinicopathological characteristics.

Background: () eradication treatment for primary gastric mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma has already been established. However, t (11;18) (q21;q21)/ translocation-positive lesions are a type of primary gastric MALT lymphoma in which a response to eradication treatment is difficult to achieve. In addition, trisomy 18 may be associated with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) transformation of gastric MALT lymphoma.

Background/objectives: 5-Aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA) is a first-line therapy for ulcerative colitis (UC). This study examined the mucosa-associated microbiota (MAM) in UC patients, distinguishing between those who were 5-ASA tolerant and intolerant.

Methods: Brushing samples were collected from the sigmoid and ileal end of patients with UC during endoscopic procedures.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to identify the microbiota whose decrease in tumor area was associated with the metastatic process of distal colorectal cancer (CRC).

Methods: Twenty-eight consecutive patients with distal CRC undergoing surgical resection in our hospital were enrolled. Microbiota in 28 specimens from surgically resected colorectal cancers were analyzed using 16S ribosomal ribonucleic acid gene amplicon sequencing and the relative abundance (RA) of microbiota was evaluated.

Extranodal marginal zone lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT lymphoma) are a group of diseases with marked heterogeneity, including clinical, immunohistochemical, and molecular heterogeneity. The disease remains unspecified in the genetic landscape with only a few sequencing studies to date; however, systematic studies of alimentary canal MALT lymphoma have not been reported. To better understand the genetics of this tumor, targeted sequencing in a group of 31 cases (including 2 esophageal, 2 colonic, 4 small intestinal, and 23 gastric cases) and two cases of lymph node hyperplasiawere performed.
