The electrophysiological mechanisms underlying melatonin's actions and the electrophysiological consequences of superimposed therapeutic hypothermia (TH) in preventing cardiac ischemia-reperfusion (IR) injury-induced arrhythmias remain largely unknown. This study aimed to unveil these issues using acute IR-injured hearts. Rabbits were divided into heart failure (HF), HF+melatonin, control, and control+melatonin groups.

Introduction: Obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (oHCM) is a genetic disorder characterized by myocardial hypertrophy, which can obstruct left ventricular outflow. Cardiac myosin inhibitors (CMIs) have emerged as a novel therapeutic agent targeting cardiac muscle hypercontractility.
Objective: To compare the efficacy and safety of CMIs mavacamten and aficamten vs.

This study sought to explore the clinical factors associated with classical low-flow low-gradient (C-LFLG) and normal-flow low-gradient (NFLG) aortic stenosis (AS) compared to high-gradient (HG) AS. We also compared clinical and echocardiographic outcomes after transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) across flow-gradient patterns. Patients with C-LFLG AS have a higher mortality rate after TAVR than those with HG AS.

Introduction: Effective defibrillation is essential to out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) survival. International guidelines recommend initial defibrillation energies between 120 and 360 Joules, which has led to widespread practice variation. Leveraging this natural experiment, we aimed to explore the association between initial defibrillation dose and outcome following OHCA.
