The authors used cytochemical methods to study functions of neutrophils, RBC and lymphocytes of perpheral blood in miners suffering from anthracosilicosis stage I, revealed higher phospholipids content, lower catecholamines, increased activity of monoamine oxidase, esterase, decreased glycogen, RNA and lysosomal cationic proteins, in comparison with apparently healthy individuals. These tests are considered expedient in diagnosis of early anthracosilicosis manifestations in miners.

Introduction Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) has suboptimal survival rates for adolescents and young adults (AYA) as compared to children. Very limited studies have been conducted on AYA patients in India. This study aimed to identify the cytogenetic and immunophenotype characteristics of B-cell ALL (B-ALL) in AYA patients and determine its correlation with clinicopathological parameters in the Southern India region.

Background: Monitoring the health of wild animals under the principles of one health contributes to the prevention of diseases and the preservation of human and animal health, thus contributing to the conservation of species.
Aim: The current study describes the clinical and paraclinical status of an ocelot () captured in Buriticá, Antioquia, Colombia, for research purposes with the aim of contributing to the construction of animal health reference values in the wild, considering the scarcity of published data for the country on capture, management, and paraclinical parameters related to this species.
Methods: For this, hematological parameters, blood chemistry, urine cytochemical analyses, and coprological examinations were carried out.

Unlabelled: Many key aspects of retinal ganglion cell (RGC) neurodegeneration in glaucoma are associated with mitochondrial dysfunction. Understanding the mechanisms and relationships between structural and functional changes in mitochondria would be beneficial for developing mitochondria-targeted therapeutic strategies to protect RGCs from glaucomatous neurodegeneration.
Purpose: This study determines the extent of mitochondrial dysfunction in patients with primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) and evaluates the potential for stabilizing the glaucomatous process by improving mitochondrial functional activity and energy production by therapy with Mexidol and Mexidol FORTE 250.

Cerebral ventriculitis is a life-threatening condition that requires prompt and effective pharmacological intervention. The continuous irrigation of the cerebral ventricles with fluid and its drainage is a system to remove toxic substances and infectious residues in the ventricles; this system is called IRRAflow®. We used this kind of ventricular irrigation/drainage system to treat two patients with post-surgical cerebral ventriculitis and a patient with bacterial meningitis complicated with ventriculitis.

Objectives: The aim of the study was to determine the diagnostic performance of novel automated red cell parameters for estimating bone marrow iron stores.
Methods: The study was a retrospective single-centre study based on data from an automated haematology analyser and results of bone marrow iron staining. Red cell parameters were measured on a Sysmex XN-series haematology analyser.
