Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is characterized by high postoperative recurrence rates, and predicting early recurrence is crucial for improving clinical outcomes, yet remains challenging. Both preoperative computed tomography (CT) imaging radiomic features and serum biomarkers related to microvascular infiltration are important indicators of HCC prognosis. This study aimed to develop a nomogram model incorporating both preoperative CT radiomic features and serum biomarkers associated with microvascular infiltration to predict early postoperative recurrence in HCC patients.

Nailfold Capillaroscopy (NFC) is a simple, non-invasive diagnostic tool used to detect microvascular changes in nailfold. Chronic pathological changes associated with a wide range of systemic diseases, such as diabetes, cardiovascular disorders, and rheumatological conditions like systemic sclerosis, can manifest as observable microvascular changes in the terminal capillaries of nailfolds. The current gold standard relies on experts performing manual evaluations, which is an exhaustive time-intensive, and subjective process.

Purpose: X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy (XALD) can affect the eyes. Existing therapies are hampered by early quantitative examination methods. This study used an optical coherence tomography angiography system (OCTA) to investigate retinal microvascular density and perfusion in XALD patients.

Septic patients are routinely exposed to endogenously released and exogenously administered catecholamines, which may alter cardiac function and perfusion causing ischemia. Early during human septic shock, left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) decreases but normalizes in survivors over 7-10 days.

Diabetic Retinopathy (DR), a leading complication of diabetes mellitus, has long been considered as a microvascular disease of the retina. However, recent evidence suggests that DR is a neurovascular disease, characterized by the degeneration of retinal neural tissue and microvascular abnormalities encompassing ischemia, neovascularization, and blood-retinal barrier breakdown, ultimately leading to blindness. The intricate relationship between the retina and vascular cells constitutes a neurovascular unit, a multi-cellular framework of retinal neurons, glial cells, immune cells, and vascular cells, which facilitates neurovascular coupling, linking neuronal activity to blood flow.
