In the presented paper the authors evaluate the results of treatment in patients following revision knee joint alloplasties due to aseptic loosening of the tibia element in the endoprosthesis. The clinical material from the years 2000-2003 consists of 12 patients aged from 68 to 73; namely, 10 women (83.5%) and 2 men (16.5%). The longest time between the original implantation of endoprosthesis into the knee joint and the diagnosis of the aseptic loosening of its tibia element was 6 years and the shortest 2 years. The longest time of follow-up in patients who had had the revision operation was 2 years and the shortest was 6 months. The authors evaluated achieved results in the period between 20th and 24th month since the revision operation in 10 patients on the basis of the time criteria referring to the time of healing the-bone implants and on the basis of the HSS knee rating scale in their own modification. We achieved 9 very well and 1 sufficient results based on time criteria and 5 very well, 1 well, 3 sufficient, 1 insufficient results based on HSS knee rating scale criteria.

Patellar dysplasia (PD) can cause patellar dislocation and subsequent osteoarthritis (OA) development. Herein, a novel ABCA6 mutation contributing to a four-generation family with familiar patellar dysplasia (FPD) is identified. In this study, whole exome sequencing (WES) and genetic linkage analysis across a four-generation lineage presenting with six cases of FPD are conducted.

Background: Robotic-assisted total knee arthroplasty (RA-TKA) was introduced to provide surgeons with virtual preoperative planning and intraoperative information to achieve the desired surgical goals in an effort to improve patient outcomes. The purpose of this study was to compare clinical outcomes and patient-reported outcome measures following primary TKA using RA-TKA vs manual instrumentation.

Methods: This was a retrospective cohort review study comparing 393 primary RA-TKAs vs 312 manual TKAs at a minimum 2-year follow-up.

Synovial fistula of the knee occurs when a defect in the joint capsule creates a connection between skin, bursa, and a near tissue, manifesting as an opening with continuous draining fluid or a cyst. This is a case of an 80-year-old male who developed a synovial fistula with cystic presentation 6 years after the primary total knee arthroplasty. Management included a total knee arthroplasty revision surgery with intraoperative identification of the fistula with methylene blue, and using a gelatin-thrombin matrix for closure.

Background: Limitations to using the knee as donor cartilage include cartilage thickness mismatch and donor site morbidity. Using the radial head as donor autograft for capitellar lesions may allow for local graft harvest without distant donor site morbidity. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the feasibility of performing local osteochondral autograft transfer from the nonarticular cartilaginous rim of the radial head to the capitellum.
