[Neonatal neuro-behavior assessment scale. Theoretical premises for its use in preterm newborn infants and model of intervention].

Published: June 1992

A model for preventive intervention based on the use of the Neonatal Behavioral Assessment Scale (NBAS) with prematures is presented, and the conceptual framework underlying this approach is made explicit. The approach is based on the assumption that the neonatal period presents clinicians with a unique opportunity to influence parent-infant relationship positively from the beginning. The model of intervention described herein is based on the development of a supportive therapeutic relationship between clinicians and parents and as much may serve as the first stage in a comprehensive follow-up program of support for infants and families.

Background: College students significantly decrease physical activity (PA) over the course of a four-year degree, increasing the risk for chronic disease. Research shows that psychological constructs impact behavior and goal attainment. However, little is known regarding the effect of psychological variables on PA levels in students.

Background: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) affects breathing, speech production, and coughing. We evaluated a machine learning analysis of speech for classifying the disease severity of COPD.

Methods: In this single centre study, non-consecutive COPD patients were prospectively recruited for comparing their speech characteristics during and after an acute COPD exacerbation.

Background: Randomized clinical trials (RCTs) are fundamental to evidence-based medicine, but their real-world impact on clinical practice often remains unmonitored. Leveraging large-scale real-world data can enable systematic monitoring of RCT effects. We aimed to develop a reproducible framework using real-world data to assess how major RCTs influence medical practice, using two pivotal surgical RCTs in gynaecologic oncology as an example-the LACC (Laparoscopic Approach to Cervical Cancer) and LION (Lymphadenectomy in Ovarian Neoplasms) trials.

Department of Anesthesiology, Shengli Clinical Medical College of Fujian Medical University, Fujian Provincial Hospital, Fuzhou, Fujian, People's Republic of China.

Purpose: While esketamine shows promise as an adjunct in procedural sedation, its impact on postoperative cognitive recovery remains incompletely characterized. This study investigated the effects of esketamine on multiple dimensions of recovery, particularly cognition, in patients undergoing colonoscopy with propofol-based sedation.

Patients And Methods: We conducted this randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled trial from January 6, 2023, to May 20, 2024, at two hospitals in China.

Background And Objective: Lyme disease, caused by , presents major health challenges worldwide, leading to serious neurological and musculoskeletal issues that impact patients' lives and healthcare systems. This systematic review and meta-analysis aim to determine the prevalence and link between Lyme disease and these complications, aiming to enhance clinical and public health approaches.

Methods: We systematically searched PubMed, EMBASE, and Web of Science up until April 01, 2024, to find studies reporting the prevalence and severity of neurological and musculoskeletal complications associated with Lyme disease.
