Introduction: Systemic capillary leak syndrome (SHCI) is a rare disease with poor prognosis, characterized by recurrent episodes of generalized edema and hypotension.

Exegesis: Two patients a 41 and 34-year-old woman were admitted with a generalized edema and several episode of shock. One patient had muscular edema with compartment syndrome imposing the aponevrotomia of discharge in emergency. The association of elevated hematocrit, decreased albumin serum concentration confirmed the diagnosis of SHCI. Administration of intravenous fluids improved the clinical and biological symptomatology.

Conclusion: These two new observations are comparable to the published cases. We didn't find dysglobulinemia whose existence is frequented. The treatment of shock requires macromolecules solutions. The preventive treatment remains empiric.

This article describes a case of successful management of late-onset CLS occurring after allo-HSCT, employing bevacizumab as the therapeutic agent. Capillary leak syndrome (CLS) represents a critical complication arising from allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT). The prognosis for CLS remains considerably constrained.

The clinical profile and outcomes of children with chikungunya infection differ from those observed in adults. As there is a paucity of data on chikungunya infection in children, this study aimed to find the clinical course, complications, and mortality rates of chikungunya infection in children. This was a combined retrospective and prospective observational study.

Purpose: Alteration of visual acuity in wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is mostly driven by vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A)-induced edema from leaky newly forming blood vessels below the retina layers. To date, all therapies aimed at alleviation of this process have relied on inhibition of VEGF-A activity. Although effective in preventing vascular leak and edema, this approach also leads to the loss of normal vasculature and multiple related side effects.

We herein report a case of Systemic Capillary Leak Syndrome (SCLS) attributed to coronavirus disease (COVID-19) that emerged in 2019. A 56-year-old woman presented with a COVID-19 infection 7 days prior to the visit with upper respiratory symptoms, fatigue, and decreased appetite. Secondary SCLS due to COVID-19 was diagnosed, veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VA-ECMO) was initiated as mechanical support, and intravenous immunoglobulin was administered, marking the transition to the recovery phase with the initiation of fluid resuscitation.

Snakebite is a neglected public health problem in tropical countries. Snakebite envenomation-associated acute kidney injury (SBE-AKI) is a major complication accounting for significant morbidity and mortality. The pathogenesis of SBE-AKI may be multifactorial, including prerenal AKI secondary to hemodynamic alterations, intrinsic renal injury, immune-related mechanisms, venom-induced consumptive coagulopathy and capillary leak syndrome.
