Department of Endoscopy, National Cancer Center/National Clinical Research Center for Cancer/Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College, Beijing, 100021, China. Electronic address:

Esophageal cancer ranked ten of the most common cancers in China. With the advancement of high-quality endoscopy and chromoendoscopic technique, early esophageal cancer can be diagnosed more easily, even combined with esophageal-gastric fundal varices. Endoscopic resection of early esophageal cancer is a minimally invasive treatment method for early esophageal cancer, and endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) is one of the standard treatments for early esophageal cancer in view of the risk of bleeding, the patient in this study successfully received ESD treatment after using endoscopic variceal ligation and endoscopic injection of tissue glue and sclerosing agent before ESD surgery.

Background: Aberrant crypt foci (ACF) are the earliest preneoplastic lesions in human colon, identifiable on chromoendoscopic screening. Our objective was to evaluate the %methylation of APC, CDKN2A, MLH1, RASSF1, MGMT, and WIF1 tumor suppressor genes (TSG) in ACF, corresponding colorectal carcinomas (CRC), and normal colonic mucosal controls.

Methods: In this study, macroscopically normal-appearing mucosal flaps were sampled 5-10 cm away from the tumor mass from 302 fresh colectomy specimens to identify ACF-like lesions.

Article Synopsis
  • * Researchers analyzed 63 flat-type dysplasia lesions in patients using dye chromoendoscopy (DCE) to identify imaging characteristics and categorized them into dysplastic and nondysplastic mucosal patterns.
  • * The findings revealed that small round and mesh patterns are common in high-grade dysplasia or carcinoma, suggesting that recognition of these DCE patterns is crucial for identifying UCAN risk.

Objectives: Linked color imaging (LCI) is a new endoscopic technology that may increase colorectal adenoma detection rate (ADR) and polyp detection rate (PDR) by virtual chromoendoscopy. Aim of the present study was to evaluate the effectiveness of LCI in ADR and PDR compared to the HD white-light colonoscopy (WLC) technique.

Materials And Methods: Between October 2016 and June 2018, we enrolled consecutive outpatients prospectively.

Introduction: Pernicious anemia (PA) caused by vitamin B12 deficiency is associated with Autoimmune Metaplastic Atrophic Gastritis (AMAG). Patients with AMAG have threefold risk of the development of gastric cancer.

Presentation Of Case: We describe a case of a 66 year old man with a history of PA and atrophic antral-corpus gastritis.
