The Polysplenia Syndrome (PSS) is a form of heterotaxy, a rare congenital anomaly with an estimated incidence of 1 in 250,000 live births, first described by Helwig in 1929. Most patients with polysplenia syndrome die during the neonatal period due to severe associated cardiac and biliary anomalies. Nevertheless, some individuals present with moderate cardiovascular malformations or abdominal anomalies, often discovered incidentally in adulthood.

The impact of acupuncture on knee function and pain intensity following knee replacement remains controversial. Therefore, we categorized the postsurgery recovery period into 3 phases: short-term (≤2 weeks), intermediate-term (2 weeks-3 months), and long-term (>3 months), and then assessed the effectiveness of acupuncture in improving function and alleviating pain at different stages following knee replacement. This meta-analysis included randomized controlled trials that compared acupuncture intervention with either no treatment or a sham group after knee replacement.

Metastasizing pleomorphic adenoma is recognized as a subtype of pleomorphic adenoma in WHO classification 5th edition of salivary glands. The controversy pertaining to the entity is the benign features of the disease even at a metastatic site. We present a rare case of left recurrent pre-auricular swelling in a young male reported as metastasizing pleomorphic adenoma.

Purpose: Irrespective of the development of acupuncture-based interventions, clinical evidence regarding their efficacy remains controversial owing to issues with the study design and an unclear risk of bias. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of auricular acupuncture in managing taste alterations in patients with cancer undergoing platinum-based chemotherapy.
Methods: We conducted a pilot randomized controlled trial involving 73 patients randomly assigned to an auricular acupuncture or a control group.
