The purpose of this study is to evaluate the optimum frequency of oscillatory fluid flow (OFF) for increasing osteogenesis in human dental pulp cells (DPCs) in an incubating rocking shaker. DPCs from 3 donors were cultured in an osteogenic induction medium (OIM) and mechanical stimulation was applied using an incubating rocking shaker at frequencies of 0 (control), 10, 20, 30, and 40 round per minute (RPM) for 1 h/day, 5 days/week. Cell proliferation was measured using total protein quantification, and osteogenic activity was measured by alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity, calcium deposition, and collagen production on days 7, 14, and 21 of culture.

Over the past 30 years, obesity prevalence has markedly increased globally, including among children. Although genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have identified over 1,000 genetic loci associated with obesity-related traits in adults, the genetic architecture of childhood obesity is less well-characterized. Moreover, most childhood obesity GWAS have been restricted to severely obese children, in relatively small sample sizes, and in primarily European ancestry populations.

Introduction: Acute Myeloid Leukemia is a heterogeneous hematological malignancy characterized by the uncontrolled proliferation of abnormal myeloid cells. Besides several other genetic abnormalities developed in AML, FLT3 mutations are significant due to their worse prognostic impacts and therapeutic resistance. As a result, these mutations enable AML cells to develop mechanisms for evading immune surveillance.

Background: Most children experience distress while visiting a dentist, above which the sound of the airotor and suction machine results in fear and difficulty in performing further procedures.
Methods: This was a randomized controlled parallel-group study of 40 children aged 6-13 years who required cavity preparation via the airotor. The children were randomly allocated to either Group 1 (Piano music app; active distraction combined with audio analgesia) or Group 2 (basic behavioural guidance alone).

Physical fitness has been linked to increased inflammatory response, but only few studies have investigated the association between oral health with physical activity.
