Aqueous-phase phosphors are of utmost importance for a myriad of applications. However, the emission wavelengths of the current aqueous organic room-temperature phosphorescent (RTP) materials are limited to green and red bands, while the blue part is rarely reported, thus limiting the development of a full-color RTP system. Theoretically, carboxylated benzene is expected to be blue phosphorescence-emissive, but only green phosphorescence is observed in solid, due to the strong intermolecular π-π stacking that decreases the energy gap.

Background: Postpartum contraception is typically provided during postpartum visits. When desired and accessible, the immediate postpartum period provides an additional opportunity to increase the use of more effective contraceptive methods to potentially reduce subsequent unintended pregnancies and improve pregnancy outcomes. In New York State, recent policy changes expanded Medicaid coverage to include immediate postplacental intrauterine device insertion.

In this study, we introduce a new method for oligonucleotide fragment assembly. Unlike polymerase chain assembly and ligase chain assembly that rely on short, highly purified oligonucleotides, our method, named , uses a one-tube, splint-driven assembly reaction. Splynthesis connects standard-desalted "contig" oligos (∼150 nt in length) via shorter "splint" oligos harboring 5' and 3' blocking modifications to prevent off-target ligation and amplification events.

Cutting tools with orderly arranged diamond grits using additive manufacturing show better sharpness and longer service life than traditional diamond tools. A retractable needle jig with vacuum negative pressure was used to absorb and place grits in an orderly arranged manner. However, needle hole wear after a long service time could not promise complete grit adsorption forever.

Releases of coal combustion and nuclear fission wastes create contaminated landscapes that pose long-term management challenges. Efforts to facilitate the natural attenuation of legacy wastes in the environment can provide attractive habitat for passerine birds. Passerines have diverse foraging and nesting behaviors that lead to heterogenous contaminant exposure, yet few studies investigate contaminant uptake in passerines on a community scale.
