Introduction: In X-linked retinoschisis (XLRS), the RS1 pathogenic variant and the patient's age might be the most important determinants of the XLRS phenotype. In this case report, we present fraternal twins with the same RS1 pathogenic mutation who were examined at the same age yet exhibited significantly different phenotypes.
Methods: This is a retrospective case report.

Background/aims: To investigate the association between plasma metabolomic profiles and treatment response after intravitreal anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) injections in treatment-naïve neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD).
Methods: This is part of a prospective longitudinal study that included patients with treatment-naïve nAMD who have undergone three loading intravitreal anti-VEGF injections. All patients underwent ophthalmological examinations including spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD OCT).

Selective recognition of Zn in biological and environmental samples is a challenge. An N, N-diethyl substituted coumarin thiosemicarbazone was designed as a fluorogenic sensor, HADICIT, [(E)-2-(1-(7-(diethylamino)-2-oxo-2H-chromen-3-yl)ethylidene)-N-isopropylhy drazine-1-carbothioamide] for the detection of Zn to address the issue. The compound was characterized using FTIR, H NMR, C NMR, and mass spectrometry methods.

In this paper, multi-wavelength emission fluorescent nitrogen-doped carbon dots (N-doped CDs) were synthesized by a one-step solvothermal method using four-leaf green fluorescent extract, O-phenylenediamine, and β-cyclodextrin as the raw materials, and N, N-dimethylformamide as the solvent.
