Investigating the effects of a high boiling point solvent in slot die-coated halide perovskite solar cells.

ChemSusChem

January 2025

Nanyang Technological University - Jurong Campus: Nanyang Technological University, School of Materials Science and Engineering, Block N4.1, 50 Nanyang Avenue, 639798, Singapore, SINGAPORE.

To commercialize perovskite solar cells and advance beyond lab-scale comparisons, understanding large-area film formation using slot-die coating is essential to improve film homogeneity. Adding high-boiling-point solvents like NMP to the perovskite ink extends film's processing window, but the effects of varying NMP levels on gas-quenched slot-die coatings remain unclear. This article examines how different NMP ratios impact film quality, showing that a moderate amount of NMP as a co-solvent reduces defects, as observed through photoluminescence, hyperspectral absorbance, and back-illuminated optical absorptions.

The polyether ionophore monensin A (MonH), applied as silver monensinate, reacts with caesium cations to form a dinuclear complex [Mon2Cs2] the structure of which has been solved by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Two Cs+ ions are located in the hydrophilic cage of two ligand anions, achieving coordination number eight. In addition, the metal cations are bridged by two functional groups of monensinate A, completing the inner tenfold coordination sphere.

Constructing oriented crystalline covalent organic framework (COF) membranes with controllable thickness for water purification is highly desirable. Herein, we present a simple and universal protocol to prepare high-quality COF membranes on the inner wall of a glass vessel using a diffusion/modulator dual-mediated solid-liquid/vapor interfacial synthesis strategy. By meticulous control of the solvent and temperature, a thin supersaturated spreading liquid layer was formed on the glass wall surface and served as a confined microreactor for incubating crystal nuclei.

Heteroleptic (NHC/MIC) Biscarbene Ag(I) and Au(I) Complexes: Synthesis, Characterization and Catalytic Applications.

Chempluschem

January 2025

Universidad Autonoma del Estado de Hidalgo, Chemsitry, Carretera Pachuca-Tulancingo, Km 4.5, Mineral de la Reforma, 42090, Mineral de la Reforma, MEXICO.

A series of hetero-biscarbene silver(I) and gold(I) complexes of the general formula [NHC-M-MIC]PF6 (NHC = imidazol-2-ylidene, MIC = 1,2,3-triazol-5-ylidene) have been prepared via the treatment of NHC-M-Cl precursors in reaction with an in situ generated mesoionic carbene (MIC). The new heteroleptic complexes have been fully characterized including NMR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, melting points and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The silver(I) derivatives were employed successfully in the solvent free KA2 (ketone-alkyne-amine) coupling for the preparation of a series of quaternary carbon-containing propargyl amines while, the gold(I) biscarbenes, demonstrated a good performance in the A3 (aldehyde, amine, alkyne) coupling and the benzylic oxidation processes under low catalyst loadings.

The scarcity of approaches to assembling copper nanoclusters (Cu NCs) has restricted advancements in Cu NCs research, largely due to stability challenges of the individual NCs. By utilizing the structural adaptability of Cu NCs, we systematically investigate how variations in organic linkers and solvents affect the cluster node size, shape, and their assembling dimensionality. Here, we introduce a facile, one-pot synthesis method for obtaining a range of crystalline Cu cluster-assembled materials (CAMs) through a liquid-liquid interfacial crystallization technique.
