We report experimental infrared spectra of neutral metal clusters in the gas phase. Multiple photon dissociation of the argon complexes of niobium clusters is used to obtain vibrational spectra in the 80-400 cm(-1) region. The observed spectra for Nb(9)Ar(n) (n=1-4) are different for different values of n. This is explained by the presence of two isomers of Nb(9) that have different affinities towards Ar and the isomer specific infrared spectra are obtained. The structures of the isomers are determined by comparing the observed spectra with the outcome of density-functional theory calculations.

Transparent solar cells maximize installation space by being applicable to glass areas such as building windows and sunroofs, necessitating high power conversion efficiency (PCE), long-term stability, and aesthetic appeal. This study demonstrates the development of transparent crystalline silicon (c-Si) solar cells that exhibit vivid colors, enhanced PCE, and long-term stability. To achieve vivid coloration, a metal-oxide-based color filter with a single metal layer and TiO thin films, which show high transmittance, is integrated into the neutral-colored transparent c-Si solar cells.

Pervious concrete has shown potential in neutralizing wastewater and stormwater, and this study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of pervious concrete at removing heavy metals and neutralizing acid from an AMD source. The removal of aluminum, manganese, iron, and copper from natural and synthetic AMD sources by pervious concrete cubes at beaker scale was tracked. Pervious concrete cylinders were also used to model length requirements for a permeable reactive barrier to treat field-scale AMD.

Engineered heme proteins possess excellent biocatalytic carbene N-H insertion abilities for sustainable synthesis, and most of them have His as the Fe axial ligand. However, information on the basic reaction mechanisms is limited, and ground states of heme carbenes involved in the prior computational mechanistic studies are under debate. A comprehensive quantum chemical reaction pathway study was performed for the heme model with a His analogue as the axial ligand and carbene from the widely used precursor ethyl diazoacetate with aniline as the substrate.

Background: Based on the low volatility and refractory nature of Tetracycline (TC), excessive use leads to its continuous accumulation in water environments, posing serious risks to the ecological environment and human health. Although a very limited number of nanomaterials capable of simultaneously detecting and removing TC have been fabricated, they generally exist issues associated with a single detection signal ("on" or "off") or low adsorption rates with low adsorption capacities. As a result, it is crucial to develop a reliable technique to achieve ratiometric detection as well as rapid and efficient removal of TC.

The increasing CO concentration in the atmosphere has substantial impacts on the global temperature. For energy sustainability and minimization of the effects of global warming, an approach to understand CO capturing and a carbon neutral culture is extremely essential in the present circumstances. The CO emission from vehicles and industries can be minimized using energy cost-effective techniques and can be converted more selectively into reusable fuels via thermochemical, electrochemical, photochemical, photocatalytic, electrocatalytic, biological and inorganic carbonate-based approaches.
