Oral cancer is a major global health problem. It is commonly diagnosed at an advanced stage although often preceded by clinically visible oral mucosal lesions, termed oral potentially malignant disorders associated with an increased risk for oral cancer development. There is an unmet clinical need for effective screening tools to assist front-line healthcare providers to determine which patients should be referred to an oral cancer specialist for evaluation.

Introduction The challenges of recruitment and retention of dentists within the NHS are a major contributory factor in delivering dental access. Availability and geographical location of dental foundation training (DFT) placements is considered to be an important element in recruiting new dental graduates to poorly served areas. A recent decline in the number of dentists applying to act as educational supervisors (ESs) for DFT has been observed, which could have a direct impact on the future sustainability of NHS services.

Objectives: To evaluate the use of the Penicillin Allergy Reassessment for Treatment Improvement (PARTI) tool in supporting appropriate penicillin allergy labelling in dental practices.
Design: Parallel mixed methods study.
Methods: Focus groups of patients with documented penicillin allergies and healthcare worker targeted questionnaires were used in gathering feedback on the PARTI tool's design and functionality.

This study investigated denture care attitudes, dental visit habits, oral mucosal lesions, and hygiene levels in 118 complete denture users treated at a university dentistry faculty. Data on demographics, smoking, denture use duration, dentist visits, and hygiene habits were collected via a questionnaire. A specialist examined mucosal lesions and assessed denture hygiene level using the Budtz-Jorgensen and Bertram method.
