Background: Although iodine 123 15-(p-iodophenyl)-3-(R , S) methylpentadecanoic acid (BMIPP) can assess abnormal utilization of fatty acid in the diseased myocardium, the prognostic value of BMIPP imaging at rest in patients with known or suspected coronary artery disease (CAD) remains unclear.

Methods And Results: A total of 270 patients were included by a retrospective search of the existing databases of 4 institutions. In addition to hard events, consisting of cardiac death and nonfatal myocardial infarction, any significant events including death, nonfatal myocardial infarction, coronary revascularization, heart failure, and unstable angina were assessed. During a median follow-up of 3.9 years, 33 patients had significant events, among whom 10 had hard events. Kaplan-Meier survival estimates revealed a hard event-free survival rate of 98% at 3 years in patients with a BMIPP defect score lower than 5 but 93% in those with a defect score of 5 or greater ( P = .03). With regard to significant events, the analysis showed an event-free survival rate of 92% at 3 years in patients with a BMIPP defect score lower than 5 but 80% in those with a defect score of 5 or greater ( P = .0003).

Conclusions: These results indicate that resting BMIPP imaging has prognostic value and may have a role in the risk stratification of patients with known or suspected CAD.

Background: Today, the screening of fetal abnormalities during pregnancy is used as one of the components of the prenatal care worldwide, and many abnormalities are detected by ultrasound during pregnancy. On the other hand, the possibility of an abnormality in the fetus causes worry and anxiety in pregnant women. Therefore, the present study was conducted with the aim of determining the relationship between worry and anxiety with the general health status of pregnant women at risk of diagnosing fetal abnormalities.

Background: The role of robot-assisted approach in hernia surgery remains controversial due to high procedural costs and the proposed equal outcomes compared with open surgery. In this study, we report the 30-day results of the introduction of robot-assisted approach in a specialized regional ventral hernia repair center.

Methods: This was a retrospective single-center cohort study including patients undergoing either robot-assisted or open ventral hernia repair from 2017 to 2022.

Background: Compared with direct linear resection, the triangular flap insertion method is a correction method that purportedly reduces the incision tension of dog ears deformity. Randomized clinical trials comparing these 2 methods seem to be limited or absent.

Objective: A randomized study was planned to compare the cosmetic effect and scar in the defect area between the triangular flap insertion method and direct linear resection in the repair of dog ear deformities after the suture of the facial circular defect.

Department of Neurology, School of Medical Sciences, University of Campinas-UNICAMP, Universitaria "Zeferino Vaz", Rua Tessália Vieira de Camargo, 126. Cidade, Campinas, SP, 13083-887, Brazil.

Background: Skeletal and cardiac muscle damage have been increasingly recognized in female carriers of DMD pathogenic variants (DMDc). Little is known about cognitive impairment in these women or whether they have structural brain damage.

Objective: To characterize the cognitive profile in a Brazilian cohort of DMDc and determine whether they have structural brain abnormalities using multimodal MRI.

Automated analysis of spoken language differentiates multiple system atrophy from Parkinson's disease.

Department of Circuit Theory, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague, Technická 2, Praha 6, 16000, Prague, Czech Republic.

Background And Objectives: Patients with synucleinopathies such as multiple system atrophy (MSA) and Parkinson's disease (PD) frequently display speech and language abnormalities. We explore the diagnostic potential of automated linguistic analysis of natural spontaneous speech to differentiate MSA and PD.

Methods: Spontaneous speech of 39 participants with MSA compared to 39 drug-naive PD and 39 healthy controls matched for age and sex was transcribed and linguistically annotated using automatic speech recognition and natural language processing.
