The case is described of a man aged 51 years who, one hour after a coronary angiographic examination that showed coronary arteries without lesions, suffered an acute inferior myocardial infarction as the result of an acute allergic reaction, probably to the iodinated contrast agent that was used. Acute myocardial infarction following an allergy is an extremely rare clinical entity that, according to existing data, is due to the local release of vasoconstrictive substances as a result of the allergic reaction.

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between the restoration of coronary flow just before stent deployment and the final thrombolysis in myocardial infarction (TIMI) flow grade 3 in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) whose initial TIMI flow grade ≤ 1. In primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), initial TMI flow grade ≤ 1 is closely associated with suboptimal final TIMI flow grade. We included 466 STEMI patients with initial TIMI flow grade ≤ 1 and divided into a restored flow group or an unrestored flow group according to the TIMI flow grade just before stent deployment.

Like children, adult patients with active or abandoned epicardial pacing leads are also at risk of developing life-threatening cardiac ischemia due to mechanical compression of the coronary arteries. As this complication is amenable to surgical removal, these patients require periodic evaluation for myocardial ischemia even if they are asymptomatic.

Atherosclerosis is a disease of large and medium arteries that can lead to life-threatening cardiovascular and cerebrovascular consequences, such as myocardial infarction and stroke. Moreover, atherosclerosis is a major contributor to cardiovascular-related mortality in individuals with diabetes mellitus. Diabetes aggravates the pathobiological mechanisms that underlie the development of atherosclerosis.

This study aims to investigate the effect of Linggui Zhugan Decoction(LGZGD) on autophagy in the mouse model of chronic heart failure(CHF) induced by myocardial infarction(MI), as well as the regulatory effect of LGZGD on the hypoxia-inducible factor-1α(HIF-1α)/heme oxygenase-1(HO-1) signaling pathway, based on bioinformatics and animal experiments. The active ingredients and corresponding targets of LGZGD were retrieved from the Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology and Analysis Database, and GEO, GeneCards, and DisGeNET were searched for the disease targets. Cytoscape was used to establish a "drug-component-target" network.

Background: Coronary artery disease (CAD) and atrial fibrillation (AF) often coexist, but the impact of clinical phenotypes of CAD on outcomes in AF patients in the non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulant drugs (NOACs) era is less well understood.
Methods: This was a post-hoc of the GLORIA-AF registry, a global, multicenter, prospective AF registry study. Patients were divided into three groups: prior history of myocardial infarction (MI)/unstable angina group (Group 1); stable angina group (Group 2); and a control group without stable angina or history of MI/unstable angina.
