Objective: To investigate the effect of ultraviolet B (UVB) on Interleukin-8 secretion in human keratinocyte cell line.

Methods: The concentration of IL-8 was detected by ELISA kit 24 h after human keratinocytes (HKC) were irradiated by different doses of UVB, and the level of IL-8 was also determined at different times after the same dose of UVB irradiation.

Results: The secretion of IL-8 was increased after the HKC were irradiated by UVB, the effect was dose-dependent when UVB ranged from 10 to 40 mJ/cm2, and there was statistically significant difference between the IL-8 level of UVB groups (20-70 mJ/cm2) and the control (0 mJ/cm2) (P<0.01). The level of IL-8 was increased 1 h after the irradiation of 30 mJ/cm2 UVB, and it reached the peak at 12 h. There was statistically significant difference between the IL-8 levels detected at different times (3 h, 6 h, 12 h, 24 h after irradiation) and that at 0 h (P<0.01).

Conclusion: UVB increase the secretion of IL-8, and the effect is dose-dependent to some extent.

Vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) has been commonly employed for the functional rehabilitation of stroke patients. This study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effects of transcranial direct current stimulation on the vagus nerve (TDCSVN) in improving dysphagia in stroke patients. Patients experiencing dysphagia following a stroke were diagnosed with dysphagia by a water swallow test.

Background: Interleukin (IL)-38 is an IL-1 family cytokine that was proposed to exert anti-inflammatory effects. However, its mechanisms of action are not well understood and the identity of the IL-38 receptor(s) remains debated. Proposed candidates include the IL-1 receptor (IL-1R1), the IL-36 receptor (IL-36R) and the orphan receptor IL-1RAPL1.

Esophageal cancer is a grave malignant condition. While radiotherapy, often in conjunction with chemotherapy, serves as a cornerstone in the management of locally advanced or metastatic cases, patient tolerance and treatment resistance frequently hinder its efficacy. Cell-in-cell structures, prevalent in various tumors, have been linked to prognosis.

Objectives: Interleukin-8 (IL-8), a proinflammatory factor in human tissues, plays an important role in inflammation. Type IV collagen, a key component of the basement membrane, interacts with integrins, which are primary receptors in the extracellular matrix (ECM). Integrins are essential for the regulation of various cellular behaviors and signal transduction pathways.
