Solid-liquid biphasic absorbents are a promising solution for overcoming the high-energy consumption challenge faced by liquid amine-based CO capture technologies. However, their practical applications are often hindered by difficulties in separating viscous solid-phase products. This study introduces a novel nonaqueous absorbent system (PD/PZ/NMP) composed of 4-amino-1-methylpiperidine (PD), piperazine (PZ), and -methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP), engineered to produce easily separable powdery products.

Osmotic demyelination syndrome (ODS) is a rare complication associated with rapid sodium changes, typically encountered in patients with severe hyponatremia. ODS in patients with normonatremia (ODSIN) is less recognized. We describe a patient with MRI-detected ODSIN following neurotrauma and reviewed the relevant literature.

A transport protein's turnover rate (TOR) is the maximum rate of substrate translocation under saturating conditions. This parameter represents the number of transporting events per transporter molecule (assuming a single transport site) per second (s). From this standpoint, a transporter's TOR is similar to an enzyme's catalytic constant.

Introduction: Novel technologies have enabled the decentralization of many aspects of clinical trials, but little research has been done on the impact of these changes on the participant experience, trial operations, or the environment.
Methods: A fully decentralized clinical trial conducted in Singapore is used as a case study to evaluate the operational outcomes, environmental impact (via life cycle assessment), and participants experience (qualitative interviews) of the decentralized model compared to a traditional study with in-person visits.
Results: The decentralized study achieved high participant retention rates (97%) and high completion rates for clinical data, even for biological samples.

Background: Cirrhotic patients face heightened energy demands, leading to rapid glycogen depletion, protein degradation, oxidative stress, and inflammation, which drive disease progression and complications. These disruptions cause cellular damage and parenchymal changes, resulting in vascular alterations, portal hypertension, and liver dysfunction, significantly affecting patient prognosis.
Aim: To analyze the association between Child-Turcotte-Pugh (CTP) scores and different nutritional indicators with survival in a 15-year follow-up cohort.
