Phantom measurements in the vicinity of an angiographic installation with the image intensifier below the table and subsequently with the intensifier above the table have shown that the former arrangement produces three times as much radiation to the head, gonads and leg during screening than when the intensifier is above the table. This has been confirmed in clinical practice during angioplastic procedures in other units. There is also a factor of 2.6 in favour of the above table intensifier applied to the lens of the eye of the investigator Radiation to the hand of the investigator is at least half with the above table arrangement.

Background: Radial neck fractures account for 1% of all pediatric fractures and 5% to 10% of pediatric elbow fractures. The mechanism of injury is typically a fall with the elbow in hyperextension and the forearm in supination. A valgus force compresses the radial head against the capitellum, causing a radial neck fracture.

Objectives: To estimate the prevalence of suboptimal fluoroscopy of sacral outlet images due to anatomic and equipment dimensions. Pelvic retroversion is hypothesized to mitigate this issue.
Design: In silico simulations using retrospectively collected computed tomography (CT) data from human patients.

Background: Genu valgum is a common disorder affecting adolescents and young adults. Treatment of this disorder requires restoration of normal mechanical axis alignment and joint orientation, for which it is important to assess whether the deformity arises from the distal femur, knee joint, or proximal tibia. Most commonly, the deformity originates from the distal femur, and various osteotomies of the distal femur have been described.

Drawing on the framework of Ideological Square Model, this paper carries out a corpus-based analysis of the ways in which group relations and the image of China are re-shaped in the English translation (ET) and the Chinese translation (CT) of Korean news discourse about China with intensifiers as an entry of inquiry. The results show that (1) There is a statistically significant difference regarding faithfulness between the ET and the CT of intensifiers (χ2 = 38.11>3.

Introduction: In the surgical treatment of supracondylar humeral fractures (SHF), the surgeon has to stand right next to the fluoroscopy device, so it is very important to know how to use it in the most appropriate way to reduce radiation exposure. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of using C-arm in uniplanar (inverted) and biplanar (standard-horizontal) configurations on (1) the radiation exposure to the surgeon, and (2) surgical time and fluoroscopy exposure time.
Material And Methods: This prospective randomised study was conducted on 20 patients who underwent fluoroscopy during closed reduction and percutaneous pinning for a SHF.
