The preparation of multifunctional mesoporous silica containing a NLO chromophore in the framework (bridged azobenzene phosphonium salts) and mercaptopropyl groups able to stabilize gold(0) nanoparticles in the channel pores was achieved in one step by using the direct liquid crystal templating approach.

Metal synergy can enhance the catalytic performance, and a prefabricated solid precursor can guide the ordered embedding, of secondary metal source ions for the rapid synthesis of bimetallic organic frameworks (MM'-MOFs) with a stoichiometric ratio of 1:1. In this paper, containing well-defined binding sites was synthesized by mechanical ball milling, which was used as a template for the induced introduction of Fe ions to successfully assemble the ordered bimetallic (where denotes template-directed synthesis of MOF-74). Its electrocatalytic performance is superior to that of the conventional one-step-synthesized (where denotes one-step synthesis of MOF-74), and the ratio of the two metal sources, Co and Fe, is close to 1:1.

The incompatibility between electrolyte ions and electrode pore sizes, coupled with the extensive use of activators and dopants, significantly restricts the fabrication of porous carbon materials. Consequently, developing environmentally sustainable and efficient methodologies that exploit the intrinsic properties and pretreatment of materials to facilitate self-activation and self-doping becomes crucial. In this study, potassium histidine and magnesium histidine molecular salts were synthesized as precursors, enabling specific ion activation and bimetallic template-directed tunable porosity through a one-step carbonization process.

Hollow multi-shell mesoporous metal-organic framework (MOF) particles with accessible compartmentalization environments, plentiful heterogeneous interfaces, and abundant framework diversity are expected to hold great potential for catalysis, energy conversion, and biotechnology. However, their synthetic methodology has not yet been established. In this work, a facile dual-template-directed successive assembly approach has been developed for the preparation of monodisperse hollow multi-shell mesoporous MOF (UiO-66-NH) particles through one-step selective etching of successively grown multi-layer MOFs with alternating two types of mesostructured layers.

Antibodies are an attractive therapeutic modality for cancer treatment as they allow the increase of the treatment response rate and avoid the severe side effects of chemotherapy. Notwithstanding the strong benefit of antibodies, the efficacy of anti-cancer antibodies can dramatically vary among patients and ultimately result in no response to the treatment. Here, we have developed a novel means to regioselectively label the Fc domain of any therapeutic antibody with a radionuclide chelator in a single step chemistry, with the aim to study by SPECT/CT imaging if the radiolabeled antibody is capable of targeting cancer cells .

3D hybrid nanostructures connecting 1D carbon nanotubes (CNTs) with 2D graphene have attracted more and more attentions due to their excellent chemical, physical and electrical properties. In this study, we firstly report a novel and facile one-step process using template-directed chemical vapor deposition (CVD) to fabricate highly nitrogen doped three-dimensional (3D) N-doped carbon nanotubes/N-doped graphene architecture (N-CNTs/N-graphene). We used nickel foam as substrate, melamine as a single source for both carbon and nitrogen, respectively.
