Purpose: This retrospective study aimed to investigate demographic characteristics, predisposing factors, and clinical outcomes in patients with parasitic keratitis.

Methods: Medical records of patients with molecularly confirmed Acanthamoeba or microsporidia, identified through corneal scraping specimens (collected between September 21, 2017, and June 27, 2023), were reviewed. Demographic data, clinical profiles, such as symptom duration before confirmed diagnosis, antiviral treatment pre-diagnosis, contact lens use, tap water and soil contamination, ocular trauma, and treatment regimens, were analyzed.

As the incidence of total ankle arthroplasty (TAA) for the management of end-stage arthritis is on the rise, identification of risk factors for periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) is essential. There has been limited research exploring the use of radiographic soft tissue thickness in TAA despite its predictive value in other forms of arthroplasty. This study evaluated the predictive capabilities of radiographic soft-tissue thickness for PJI following TAA.

The takeover issue, especially the setting of the takeover time budget, is a critical factor restricting the implementation and development of conditionally automated vehicles. The general fixed takeover time budget has certain limitations, as it does not take into account the driver's non-driving behaviors. Here, we propose an intelligent takeover assistance system consisting of all-round sensing gloves, a non-driving behavior identification module, and a takeover time budget determination module.
