Radical anatomic correction--operation of arterial switch--is performed in the main vessels transposition in majority of the world big cardiosurgical clinics, but its late results are studied insufficiently yet. Echocardiographic cardiac parameters preoperatively and in immediate postoperative period after anatomic correction in the main vessels transposition were presented. Comparative analysis of indexes, including estimation of anatomy and function of cardiac ventricles, depending on initial data and terms of the operation performance was conducted.

Background And Objectives: Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) is a key enzyme that regulates folate and homocysteine metabolism. Genetic variation in has been implicated in cerebrovascular disease risk, although research in diverse populations is lacking. We thus aimed to investigate the effect of genetically predicted MTHFR activity on risk of ischemic stroke (IS) and its main subtypes using a multiancestry Mendelian randomization (MR) approach.

The tumor distance to the main hepatic vessels is a predictor of recurrence-free survival and overall survival in hepatocellular cancer.

Introduction: The impact of the distance of the tumor from the main hepatic vessels (DTV), such as the Glissonean pedicle or hepatic veins, on oncological outcomes for Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients is relatively understudied. Therefore, the objective of this study was to explore the correlation between DTV and survival in patients with HCC after curative hepatic resection.

Methods: Consecutive patients who underwent curative-intent liver surgery for HCC between April 2018 and May 2023 were identified from a prospective database.

Background: Subcortical ischemic vascular cognitive impairment (SIVCI) is highly prevalent in older individuals. White matter hyperintensities (WMH) are a defining feature of SIVCI. There are sex differences in SIVCI, with females having higher volume and faster WMH progression than males.

Background: Atherosclerosis, the hardening of arterial walls resulting in atherosclerotic plaques, is linked to cognitive dysfunction and an increased risk of cognitive decline. Findings on the impact of high coronary artery calcium (CAC), a subclinical atherosclerosis biomarker, on cognition remain inconsistent. Additionally, its effect on Alzheimer's Disease (AD) biomarkers has not been previously analysed.

Estimating the high-resolution (HR) blood flow velocity and pressure fields for the diagnosis and treatment of vascular diseases remains challenging.. In this study, a physics-informed neural network (PINN) with a refined mapping capability was combined with ultrafast ultrasound image velocimetry (u-UIV) to predict HR hemodynamic parameters.
