We present a search for Wbb production in pp collisions at sqrt[s]=1.96 TeV in events containing one electron, an imbalance in transverse momentum, and two b-tagged jets. Using 174 pb(-1) of integrated luminosity accumulated by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron collider, and the standard-model description of such events, we set a 95% C.L. upper limit on Wbb production of 6.6 pb for b quarks with transverse momenta p(b)(T)>20 GeV and bb separation in pseudorapidity-azimuth space DeltaR(bb)>0.75. Restricting the search to optimized bb mass intervals provides upper limits on WH production of 9.0-12.2 pb for Higgs-boson masses of 105-135 GeV.

Sunflower is a short-season crop of the Asteraceae family and the Helianthus genus and is the fourth most important oilseed crop in the world. During a field campaign, unusual symptoms (necrosis and longitudinal cracking of the petiole) were observed in a sunflower crop grown in the region of Kavarna (Dobrich district, Bulgaria) and strains of the genus Xanthomonas were isolated. Results based on phylogenetic and phylogenomic analyses showed that they clustered with Xanthomonas euroxanthea CPBF 424T species, a pathogenic strain isolated from walnut buds in Portugal and responsible for causing walnut bacterial blight (WBB).

The global rise in polypharmacy has increased both the necessity and complexity of drug-drug interaction (DDI) assessments, given the growing potential for interactions involving more than two drugs. Leveraging large-scale healthcare claims data, we piloted a semi-automated, high-throughput case-crossover-based approach for drug-drug-drug interaction (3DI) screening. Cases were direct-acting oral anticoagulant (DOAC) users with either a major bleeding event during ongoing dispensings for potentially interacting, enzyme-inhibiting antihypertensive drugs (AHDs) (Study 1), or a thromboembolic event during ongoing dispensings for potentially interacting, enzyme-inducing antiseizure medications (ASMs) (Study 2).

Utilization of prescreened LTOWB in a walking blood bank (WBB) format has been well described by the Ranger O low-titer blood (ROLO) and the United States Marine Corps Valkyrie programs, but it has not been applied to the maritime setting.
Methods: We describe three WBB experiences of an expeditionary resuscitative surgical system (ERSS) team, attached to three nontraditional maritime medical receiving platforms, over 6 months.

Background: Blood supply problems in remote areas are well known. To overcome this shortage, many countries have developed innovative walking blood bank (WBB) protocols. However, no common standards have yet been set for their use and common actions.

Whole blood transfusion is being increasingly used for trauma resuscitation, particularly in military settings. Low-titre group O whole blood simplifies the logistical challenges and maximises the benefits of blood transfusion when compared with component therapy in austere battlefield conditions. Screening protocols and blood testing requirements for prescreened donors in walking blood banks (WBBs), which are used for emergency transfusions, are established by both the USA and most partner nations, though they are not necessarily uniform across these combined forces.
