To report one patient with an ectopic salivary tissue tag on the tonsil, and review the embryology, management, and implications of this benign disorder. Case report with literature review. Ectopic salivary tissue presented on the tonsil of a child as a painless, growing, unilateral pale exophytic mass. Tonsillectomy was performed to provide diagnosis, and was curative. Ectopic salivary tissue of the tonsil is a rare finding. Tonsillectomy allows for definitive diagnosis and treatment.

Cushing syndrome (CS) is a constellation of signs and symptoms caused by excessive exposure to exogenous or endogenous glucocorticoid hormones. Endogenous CS is caused by increased cortisol production by one or both adrenal glands (adrenal CS) or by elevated adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) secretion from a pituitary tumour (Cushing disease (CD)) or non-pituitary tumour (ectopic ACTH secretion), which stimulates excessive cortisol production. CS is associated with severe multisystem morbidity, including impaired cardiovascular and metabolic function, infections and neuropsychiatric disorders, which notably reduce quality of life.

Purpose: To describe a rare case of heterotopic submandibular gland (SMG) tissue herniating through the mylohyoid boutonnière into the anterior submandibular space, diagnosed using imaging, and to provide insights into its clinical implications.
Methods: A 59-year-old male with a history of smoking and type 2 diabetes presented with new-onset hoarseness. Imaging, including contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), was performed.

Innate immune system plays a crucial role in the initiation of the inflammatory process, but the amplification and the perpetuation of the autoimmune process require a continual interaction between the innate and adaptive immune systems. Several important contributions elucidating SjD pathogenesis have been recently published due to emerging technologies.
