Background: Involving parents in decisions about the care of their infant is common practice in most neonatal intensive care units. However, involvement is less common in neonatal research and a gap appears to exist in understanding the process of patient and public involvement. The aim of this study was to explore parents and researchers' experiences of patient and public involvement in a neonatal research project.

Background: Measures that quantify clinician fulfillment and engagement with work (clinician experience measures) have the potential to improve the quality, effectiveness, and enjoyment of patient care. Many existing measures of clinician fulfillment and engagement with work are relatively long and potentially burdensome, negatively framed, or address personal well-being. A measure with a small number of items that address positive attributes to which a team aspires may be a more useful measure to guide organizational improvement efforts.

Epilepsy care generates multiple sources of high-dimensional data, including clinical, imaging, electroencephalographic, genomic, and neuropsychological information, that are collected routinely to establish the diagnosis and guide management. Thanks to high-performance computing, sophisticated graphics processing units, and advanced analytics, we are now on the cusp of being able to use these data to significantly improve individualized care for people with epilepsy. Despite this, many clinicians, health care providers, and people with epilepsy are apprehensive about implementing Big Data and accompanying technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI).
